UMW Toyota Motor is expanding its involvement in community sports with the launch of the Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026, a nationwide pickleball series that will travel across five locations in Malaysia. Covering both Peninsular and East Malaysia, the tour aims to bring together players of all ages while promoting one of the country’s fastest-growing sports.
Featuring a total prize pool of RM175,000, the five-stop tour will visit Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Johor Bahru, George Town and Subang Jaya, creating opportunities for participants from different regions to compete and engage with the wider pickleball community.
Carrying the theme “Solo Entry. Team Glory.”, the tournament introduces a distinctive format where participants register individually before being assigned to teams by the organisers. This approach encourages players to build new connections and work together toward a common goal, adding a fresh dynamic to the competition.
According to UMW Toyota Motor President Datuk Ravindran K., the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to making experiences more accessible to Malaysians through sports and community engagement. By taking the event across multiple regions, Toyota hopes to reach a wider audience and encourage participation among both seasoned players and newcomers.
The popularity of pickleball has grown steadily in Malaysia thanks to its accessible rules, social nature and suitability for players of various skill levels. Through this tour, Toyota aims to support that momentum while creating an environment that promotes active lifestyles, healthy competition and social interaction.
The Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026 will take place at the following venues:
- STAR Pickleball, Kuching – 1 to 2 August 2026
