Mazda has strengthened its premium SUV portfolio in Malaysia with the introduction of the new Mazda CX-60 3.3L MHEV, marking the next chapter in the model’s local journey following the arrival of the 2.5L variant in 2025. Developed as part of Mazda’s Large Product Group architecture, the latest CX-60 combines advanced mild-hybrid technology, a powerful inline-six engine, sophisticated Japanese craftsmanship, and enhanced driving dynamics, reinforcing the brand’s premium aspirations.
The Mazda CX-60 continues to embody the company’s evolving design philosophy through the concept of “Noble Toughness.” Built around Mazda’s renowned Kodo design language, or “Soul of Motion,” the SUV projects a confident yet refined presence that balances strength with elegance.
Inspired by the Japanese concept of Ma, which values purposeful space and harmonious proportions, the CX-60’s exterior has been sculpted to create a sense of motion even when standing still. Every surface and contour reflects Mazda’s commitment to precision craftsmanship and timeless Japanese aesthetics.
For the new 3.3L MHEV variant, Mazda introduces two distinctive design themes. The Machine Gray finish features a honeycomb grille, black-plated signature wing, black 20-inch alloy wheels, and an assertive appearance that emphasises sportiness. Meanwhile, the Rhodium White version adopts a bar-type grille, Black Machined alloy wheels, and a cleaner, more sophisticated visual identity. Both variants benefit from body-coloured wheel arches that enhance the vehicle’s seamless and sculpted profile.
Inside, the CX-60 offers an environment designed around comfort, simplicity, and craftsmanship. A wide horizontal dashboard layout creates an open and calming atmosphere, reflecting Mazda’s philosophy of creating human-centric interiors.
The Pure White interior available with the Rhodium White exterior incorporates Japanese-inspired design elements, including wood trim influenced by the concept of Hacho, which celebrates asymmetrical balance. Traditional stitching techniques such as Kakenui and Musubu further elevate the sense of craftsmanship, adding intricate detailing that reflects Mazda’s attention to artistry and material harmony.
The Tan interior, paired with the Machine Gray exterior, delivers a warmer and more classic premium ambience while maintaining the same high standards of quality and refinement.
Technology plays a central role in enhancing the driving experience. Drivers benefit from a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and Mazda’s Active Driving Display, all arranged to minimise distraction and improve visibility. The Driver Personalisation System automatically recognises the driver and restores saved settings for seating, mirrors, and climate control, creating a more intuitive ownership experience.
Additional comfort features include ventilated 10-way power-adjustable seats, ambient cabin lighting, wireless smartphone charging, seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a premium 12-speaker BOSE audio system.
At the heart of the new CX-60 3.3L MHEV is Mazda’s e-SkyActiv G 3.3-litre turbocharged inline-six engine, paired with the company’s M Hybrid Boost 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The powertrain generates 280 horsepower and 450Nm of torque, delivered through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Designed to balance performance and efficiency, the mild-hybrid system assists acceleration, enables smoother stop-start operation, and recovers energy during deceleration. The result is responsive performance combined with improved fuel economy and refined operation.
Built on Mazda’s SkyActiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture, the CX-60 adopts a rear-wheel-drive-based layout with i-Activ All-Wheel Drive, helping deliver balanced handling characteristics and confident traction across varying road conditions.
Drivers can further tailor the vehicle’s behaviour through Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive), which now includes an Off-Road mode in addition to existing drive settings. This allows the SUV to adapt seamlessly to different environments while maintaining the composed driving feel associated with Mazda’s Jinba Ittai philosophy, where vehicle and driver move as one.
Enhancing driving dynamics are double wishbone front suspension, multi-link rear suspension, Kinematic Posture Control, and a low centre of gravity achieved through strategic battery placement. Together, these technologies contribute to greater stability, comfort, and precision behind the wheel.
Safety remains a key pillar of the CX-60, which retains its five-star Euro NCAP rating. The SUV is equipped with an extensive suite of Mazda i-Activsense driver assistance technologies designed to improve awareness and reduce driver workload.
Features include Adaptive LED Headlamps, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Monitoring, Smart Brake Support, Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go functionality, and Cruising & Traffic Support.
The package is complemented by a high-rigidity body structure, multiple airbags, advanced braking systems, parking sensors, a reverse camera, and a 360-degree View Monitor with See Through View functionality, helping provide confidence in a variety of driving situations.
