Tesla Malaysia has marked two significant milestones in its local journey with the opening of a new Tesla Experience Centre at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru and the commencement of customer deliveries for the all-new Model Y L. The achievements underscore Tesla’s continued investment in Malaysia while strengthening its regional ecosystem for electric vehicle owners.
Located at G-019, South Wing of Mid Valley Southkey near SOGO, the new 3,300-square-foot Tesla Experience Centre serves as a strategic hub for customers from both Malaysia and neighbouring Singapore. Visitors can explore Tesla’s complete Malaysian vehicle lineup, including the Model 3, the globally popular Model Y, and the newly introduced six-seater Model Y L.
The latest facility is designed to provide customers with a comprehensive Tesla experience, from vehicle discovery and test drives to charging and ownership support. Complementing the centre are four Tesla Superchargers situated at the Ground External North area of Mid Valley Southkey, offering convenient charging access for drivers.
The launch comes as Tesla begins delivering the Model Y L across Malaysia, just two months after the model’s debut in April. The new variant expands Tesla’s SUV offering with a six-seat configuration while maintaining the brand’s focus on safety, efficiency, advanced technology, and performance. Tesla vehicles continue to earn top safety ratings from internationally recognised assessment bodies, reinforcing the company’s reputation for vehicle safety.
Tesla is also enhancing ownership convenience across Southeast Asia by providing cross-border service and support coverage for Tesla vehicles registered in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Owners can now access Tesla’s regional charging network, connectivity services, and warranty support while travelling between the three countries. This network includes nine Tesla Service Centres and Service Express facilities, along with 12 Tesla Approved Body Shops across the region.
For customers subscribed to Premium Connectivity, Tesla’s ecosystem becomes even more seamless during cross-country journeys. Features such as real-time navigation, live traffic updates, internet browsing, video and music streaming, trip planning, and AI-powered functions including Grok remain available while travelling across borders. Tesla’s 24-hour customer support hotline further enhances peace of mind for long-distance travel.
According to Isabel Fan, Senior Director of Tesla, the company remains committed to making electric vehicle ownership more accessible by expanding charging infrastructure, customer support, and Tesla technology. She emphasised Tesla’s ongoing efforts to create a seamless ownership experience throughout the region through its direct business model and integrated customer ecosystem.
Tesla’s charging network in Malaysia continues to grow rapidly. As of early 2026, the company operates 19 Supercharging stations featuring 84 Superchargers and 17 Destination Charging locations equipped with 73 chargers nationwide. Additional charging sites are planned for key regions including the Klang Valley, Penang, Perak, and East Malaysia.
The network is designed to support convenient long-distance travel, with the Model Y L capable of adding up to 288 kilometres of driving range in just 15 minutes when connected to a 250kW Tesla Supercharger. Charging sessions can be easily monitored and paid for through the Tesla mobile application.
Tesla customers and prospective buyers can visit Tesla Centres and Experience Centres across Malaysia, including locations in Cyberjaya, Pavilion Damansara Heights, Gurney Plaza in Penang, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru, and The Spring Kuching in Sarawak. Additional pop-up displays are also operating at Setia City Mall and The Waterfront, Desa ParkCity.
With the opening of its newest Experience Centre and the arrival of the Model Y L, Tesla is further reinforcing its commitment to accelerating electric mobility adoption in Malaysia while building a more connected and convenient ownership experience across Southeast Asia.
