Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has officially announced the return of its MercedesTrophy golf tournament, reaffirming its commitment to delivering premium lifestyle experiences for its customers. Now in its 36th year, the globally recognised amateur golf series continues to unite enthusiasts through a shared passion for the sport while embodying the elegance and excellence synonymous with the Mercedes-Benz brand.
More than just a competition, MercedesTrophy has evolved into a signature platform where customers can engage with the brand beyond driving. As highlighted by Elaine Hew, General Manager of Marketing Communications at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, the tournament represents connection, enjoyment, and a shared pursuit of excellence—values deeply rooted in the brand’s identity.
Since its inception in 1991, MercedesTrophy has grown into one of the world’s most prestigious amateur golf tournaments, drawing over 60,000 participants annually from more than 60 countries. Exclusively open to Mercedes-Benz customers, the series continues to offer a unique blend of sporting challenge and luxury lifestyle engagement.
The 2026 edition will kick off with four qualifying rounds beginning on 12 May, hosted at two of Malaysia’s premier golf venues—Tropicana Golf & Country Club and Kota Permai Golf & Country Club. Successful participants will then advance to the National Final, scheduled for 22 June at The ELS Club Desaru Coast in Johor.
Golfers will compete across four categories based on handicap divisions for men and women, ensuring a fair and competitive playing field. At the National Final, the top three performers with the highest Stableford scores will earn the honour of representing Malaysia at the MercedesTrophy World Final, set to take place in Germany from 28 September to 2 October 2026—the birthplace of the automobile and home of Mercedes-Benz.
Adding further excitement to the tournament, participants will have the opportunity to win a Mercedes-Benz E 350 e, valued at RM427,888, by achieving a hole-in-one at designated par-3 holes during the qualifying rounds and final.
Another highlight is the “Drive to the Major” challenge, where the golfer with the straightest drive closest to the centre line at the National Final will win an exclusive, all-expenses-paid trip to The Open 2026, one of golf’s most prestigious championships, taking place from 15 to 20 July 2026.
Beyond the competition, participants can look forward to a range of rewards, including exclusive Mercedes-Benz merchandise and gifts from tournament partners such as Mercedes-Benz Financial, 100Plus, Crestlink, Desaru Coast, Dr Med, IROAS, Luen Heng, Taylormade, The Edge, and The ELS Club Desaru Coast. Support from Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast further enhances the premium experience, underscoring the event’s lifestyle appeal.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia invites eligible vehicle owners—those who have purchased their cars from authorised dealers within the past five years—to take part in this exclusive tournament. With limited slots available on a first-come, first-served basis, participants are encouraged to register early and secure their place in one of the brand’s most anticipated annual events.
Blending sport, luxury, and camaraderie, MercedesTrophy 2026 promises another memorable chapter in a legacy that continues to celebrate excellence both on and off the course.

The unique tradition of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class: its history began in 1903 with the construction of the powerful Mercedes-Simplex 60 hp, which Emil Jellinek had converted into a luxurious touring car in 1904.
