TQ WULING has reached an important milestone with the official handover of the first batch of locally assembled Wuling Bingo EV units to Malaysian customers. The delivery marks the brand’s transition from market introduction to real-world ownership, as early adopters take possession of their vehicles and begin their electric mobility journeys.
The handover ceremony highlighted the encouraging demand for the Bingo EV, reflecting growing confidence among Malaysian consumers in the brand and its electric offering. For many customers, receiving their vehicles symbolises the start of a new chapter—one that brings together modern design, practical mobility, and the shift toward electrified transportation.
According to Wan Wei Sun, Head of Business at TQ Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, the occasion represents more than just a vehicle delivery. He noted that the moment reflects the trust placed in the brand by its first customers and signals the beginning of a community of Bingo EV owners in Malaysia.
The first group of owners cited everyday practicality, affordability, and confidence in aftersales support as major factors influencing their decision to purchase the vehicle. One owner, Intan, explained that the Bingo EV’s retro-modern styling initially caught her attention, but the driving experience ultimately sealed the deal. After test driving the car, she found it responsive, easy to handle in city traffic, and well suited for urban lifestyles. The reassurance of available maintenance support further strengthened her confidence in the purchase.
Another owner, Christine, shared that the vehicle’s spacious interior and effective air-conditioning made it particularly suitable for Malaysia’s warm climate. She also highlighted the model’s affordability and ease of manoeuvring through congested roads. Backed by the reputation of Tan Chong Group and Wuling Motors, she expressed strong confidence in the car’s long-term reliability.
Coinciding with the first deliveries, TQ Wuling announced that the locally assembled Bingo EV now comes equipped with a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features as standard across both variants. This ensures that every customer receives the same level of intelligent safety and driver support from the very first unit delivered.
The ADAS package includes Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Collision Warning, Low-Speed Pedestrian Warning, Door Opening Warning, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Additional convenience features such as rain-sensing automatic wipers, walk-away auto lock and unlock, and impact-sensing automatic door unlock further enhance everyday usability.
Safety is further reinforced through the use of high-tensile steel construction and a six-airbag system. Notably, Malaysia is the first market to receive this enhanced airbag configuration for the model, strengthening the Bingo EV’s overall safety proposition.
Wan emphasised that advanced safety technology should not be reserved only for premium vehicles. By making ADAS standard equipment, the company aims to ensure that more Malaysians can benefit from intelligent protection during their daily drives.
Assembled locally at the Tan Chong Group’s manufacturing facility in Segambut, the Bingo EV combines compact exterior dimensions with thoughtful interior design aimed at urban users. The car features a modern-retro styling theme and practical cabin layout that prioritises usability.
Inside, a floating-island centre console integrates dual 10.25-inch digital displays supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The interior also includes 15 storage compartments and a flexible boot space that expands to 1,240 litres when the rear seats are folded.
Customers can choose from youthful exterior colours such as Milky White, Neon Blue, and Lavender Purple, each paired with a contrasting black roof to enhance the vehicle’s contemporary appeal.
In terms of driving range, the Bingo PRO variant offers up to 333 km (CLTC), while the Bingo MAX extends that range to 410 km on a single charge.
Powering the Bingo EV is SGM-Wuling’s proprietary MAGIC EV Battery, engineered under a stringent safety framework designed to ensure durability and reliability. The battery system has undergone extensive testing under extreme conditions, including impact, compression, fire exposure, water immersion, and thermal stress.
With an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, the battery system has also demonstrated a strong safety record globally. Across more than three million Wuling EVs sold worldwide, the technology has recorded zero fire or explosion incidents, offering additional reassurance for everyday use.
Customers purchasing the Bingo EV can still take advantage of the “Bingo EV Fabulous 5” ownership package, which aims to make electric vehicle ownership more accessible.
The package includes a RM5,000 cash rebate, bringing the on-the-road price to RM62,800 for the Bingo PRO and RM67,800 for the Bingo MAX. Buyers also receive comprehensive warranties covering the EV battery for eight years or 120,000 km and the drive motor for eight years or 160,000 km.
Additional benefits include low monthly instalments starting from RM625 through selected financing institutions, a complimentary 7kW home charger with a portable 3-pin charger, and a premium solar tinting package. Comprehensive insurance coverage with 17 EV-specific benefits is also included.
Currently, TQ Wuling operates six dedicated showrooms located in Glenmarie, Jalan Raja Laut, OUG, Melati Utama, Butterworth, and Johor Bahru. The Bingo EV is available for test drives at all locations.
These are supported by seven aftersales centres within the Tan Chong Group’s service network. The company also plans to open additional showrooms and service facilities in the coming months as sales momentum continues to build.
With the first batch of vehicles now in customers’ hands, TQ Wuling will continue rolling out deliveries nationwide while strengthening its sales and aftersales network. The company aims to focus on delivering reliable products, dependable ownership experiences, and long-term value for Malaysian drivers.
The first handovers mark only the beginning of TQ Wuling’s journey in Malaysia as the brand builds its EV presence and ownership community in the country.
