The road to the upcoming Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 is set to begin with a dynamic new initiative that combines fitness, community engagement, and sustainability. The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has announced the inaugural KLIMS Run 2026, which will take place on 17 May 2026 at Dataran Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur.

More than just a running event, KLIMS Run 2026 is designed to extend the spirit of mobility beyond exhibition halls and into the streets of the capital. The event aims to bring together people from all walks of life to promote active living, environmental awareness, and social responsibility while building excitement for the major automotive showcase scheduled later in the year.

Held under the theme “Beyond Mobility”, the run represents the first public activity linked to Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026. Participants will not only experience the energy of a citywide fitness event but also celebrate the evolving landscape of transportation and mobility in Malaysia.

The run will coincide with the popular KL Car-Free Morning programme, offering participants a unique opportunity to run through the city in a safer, vehicle-free environment. By aligning the event with this initiative, organisers hope to highlight the importance of sustainable urban spaces while encouraging healthier lifestyles.

Scheduled to begin at 7:00 AM, the event will flag off from Dataran Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, located along Jalan Raja Laut in the heart of the city. Runners can choose between two distance categories — 5KM and 7KM — making the event accessible to both casual runners and more experienced participants.

Registration is now open through the KLIMS Run 2026 website and will continue until 26 April 2026. Participation fees are set at RM60 for the 5KM category and RM65 for the 7KM category. Every participant will receive an official event running shirt, a race bib, and a finisher’s medal as part of the race package.

Beyond being a community run, the event also symbolises a step toward the future of mobility. It serves as a precursor to the much-anticipated Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026, which will be held from 12 to 21 June 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

Recognised as Malaysia’s premier automotive and mobility exhibition, KLIMS 2026 will showcase cutting-edge innovations that are transforming transportation. Visitors can expect to see the latest developments in electric vehicles, alternative energy technologies, and smart mobility solutions, alongside exhibits from global brands, industry leaders, and automotive enthusiasts.

With KLIMS Run 2026 setting the pace, organisers hope to build momentum leading up to the main exhibition — creating a shared sense of excitement while promoting healthier and more sustainable urban living.
