GWM Malaysia closed 2025 on a high note, delivering an exceptional year marked by a 177% year-on-year surge in commercial performance. The milestone reflects rising consumer confidence in the brand and underscores GWM’s growing relevance within Malaysia’s increasingly competitive and electrification-driven automotive market.
A key pillar behind this momentum was GWM’s strong showing in the hybrid segment. In 2025, the brand ranked third overall with a 15.5% market share, driven largely by the continued success of the GWM Haval H6 HEV. The model emerged as one of Malaysia’s best-selling hybrid vehicles, securing second place in the HEV category with a 14.9% market share. Its blend of fuel efficiency, daily practicality and advanced hybrid technology resonated strongly with Malaysian buyers, cementing its role as the backbone of GWM Malaysia’s sales performance throughout the year.
GWM Malaysia’s performance reflects a broader shift among consumers towards hybrid vehicles that strike a balance between efficiency, performance and everyday usability. The strong acceptance of the Haval H6 HEV highlights how hybrids are increasingly seen as a practical and accessible step towards greener mobility, without sacrificing comfort or driving enjoyment.
Looking ahead, GWM is preparing to deepen this hybrid focus through the introduction of Hi4, its next-generation hybrid architecture. More than just a technical upgrade, Hi4 represents a long-term strategic direction that integrates performance, efficiency and intelligent energy management into a cohesive hybrid ecosystem. This future-ready platform is expected to shape the next phase of GWM’s electrification journey in Malaysia.
Beyond the Haval H6 HEV, GWM Malaysia maintained a diversified portfolio throughout 2025, appealing to customers across electrified, lifestyle-oriented and off-road segments. This balanced approach, combined with consistent brand-building initiatives, has helped strengthen awareness and trust in the local market.
Commenting on the year’s achievements, GWM Malaysia Chief Operating Officer En. Roslan Abdullah noted that the brand’s product range will continue to expand, with the upcoming launch of the WEY G9 Intelligent Luxury MPV scheduled for the end of January 2026. The new model marks GWM Malaysia’s next step into premium and intelligent mobility, broadening its appeal to a wider audience.
GWM Malaysia’s strong local performance is reinforced by the brand’s growing global presence. In 2025, GWM recorded worldwide sales of 1,323,672 vehicles, representing a 7.33% year-on-year increase. Overseas deliveries reached 506,066 units, up 11.68% compared to 2024.
New energy vehicles played a significant role in this growth, with global NEV sales rising 25.44% to 403,653 units, highlighting GWM’s leadership in hybrid and electrified mobility. December alone saw global sales of 124,020 vehicles, including 57,418 units overseas, reflecting a robust 39.05% year-on-year increase for the month.
Backed by more than 16 million users worldwide, 1,400 overseas outlets and over 2 million cumulative overseas sales, GWM’s global scale and momentum continue to enhance the brand’s credibility and long-term value proposition for Malaysian customers.
Building on the achievements of 2025, GWM Malaysia steps into 2026 with a clear strategy focused on strengthening its hybrid leadership and elevating the overall ownership experience. The company remains committed to delivering innovation, product quality and strong customer support as it grows alongside Malaysia’s evolving mobility landscape.
A major highlight of the coming year will be the arrival of the WEY G9 Intelligent Luxury MPV, set to debut at the end of January 2026. Designed to showcase GWM’s advancements in comfort, technology and premium design, the WEY G9 is expected to play a strategic role in enhancing brand aspiration and reinforcing confidence in GWM’s capabilities across multiple segments.
Reflecting on the road ahead, GWM Malaysia Managing Director Mr. Cui Anqi emphasised that the brand’s 2025 performance demonstrates the trust Malaysian consumers have placed in GWM. As the company looks to 2026, its focus remains on sustainable growth, strengthening hybrid leadership and delivering meaningful value to customers.
As GWM Malaysia moves forward, 2025 stands as a defining year built on strong commercial results, growing consumer trust and the proven appeal of its hybrid portfolio. With a clear direction centred on hybrid innovation, premium brand development and future-ready technology, GWM Malaysia is well-positioned to continue delivering reliable and forward-looking mobility solutions for the Malaysian market in the years ahead.
