Viper Niza Racing Team is gearing up for a landmark start to its 2026 international endurance racing campaign, with the Michelin 12H of Malaysia at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit poised to ignite a season packed with ambition and high expectations. The upcoming Sepang round carries extra significance: it not only marks the first time the Michelin Series comes to Southeast Asia, but also offers the all-Malaysian outfit a shot at securing consecutive 12-hour podium finishes on home soil within the same year.
While the Series may be debuting at Sepang, Viper Niza Racing certainly won’t be short on familiarity or confidence. Earlier this year, the trio of Douglas Khoo, Dominic Ang and Melvin Moh stormed to victory in the GT AM Masters class and took second place in the GT AM category at the Motul 12 Hours of Sepang—an echo of their earlier success in 2024. With such a strong record at their home circuit, the team is eager to maintain its momentum.
“Sepang has always been good to us, but nothing in endurance racing is ever guaranteed,” said Khoo, who serves as Team Principal. “Preparation and perseverance set the tone, but you never truly know what you’ll face until the green flag drops. Another podium here would be the perfect way to close out 2025 and springboard into an even bigger 2026.”
The Michelin Middle East Series will follow immediately after Sepang, with the 6H of Abu Dhabi taking place from 9–10 January and the season concluding with the 24H of Dubai from 16–18 January. Viper Niza Racing has yet to confirm its full campaign in the Middle East rounds, but preparations are already underway for a second full season in the 2026 European Series.
Sepang will serve as a crucial shakedown before the team’s European assault begins on 20–22 March with the Michelin 12H of Mugello in Italy. The five-round championship continues at Spa-Francorchamps (17–19 April), Paul Ricard (5–7 June), Nürburgring (3–5 July), and wraps up with the prestigious 24H of Barcelona from 18–20 September.
Despite 2025 being its first complete season in Europe, Viper Niza Racing finished an impressive fourth overall in the GT3-AM standings—an achievement made even more notable considering the team missed one round and retired from another. Their campaign included standout performances such as sixth overall and second in GT3-AM at Spa, a third-place GT3-AM finish at Paul Ricard, and a gritty end-of-season effort at Barcelona.
For 2026, the mission is clear.
“Our goal is to finish the year in the top three overall,” Khoo affirmed. “We have the right car, the right partners, and we believe we could’ve been there this year if not for the setbacks at Misano and the opening round. Sepang will be an important test for our Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, and we’re determined to enter Mugello ready to fight at the front.”
Viper Niza Racing continues to enjoy strong support from Motul, Endless & Momentum Autoparts, IWC as its Official Watch Brand, and Jen Orchard Gateway Hotel in Singapore. With the home crowd behind them and a growing list of accomplishments, the team is poised to make 2026 its most competitive season yet.
