Proton and its subsidiary, PRO-NET, are making waves at the Global Automotive and Technology Expo (GATE) 2025, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 12–14 November. The three-day premier regional event brings together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore the latest in electric mobility, autonomous systems, and sustainable transportation.
As a key player in Malaysia’s electric vehicle (EV) industry, PRO-NET’s participation at GATE 2025 highlights the brand’s commitment to fostering local innovation while collaborating on a global scale. The showcase offers visitors an exclusive look at the company’s latest EV technologies and future-forward mobility solutions.
Adding a touch of prestige to the event, YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), will visit the Proton e.MAS booth on 13 November. He will be joined by Mr. Azrul Reza Aziz, CEO of the Malaysia Automotive Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii), to be briefed on Proton’s advancements in electric mobility.
At GATE 2025, Proton and PRO-NET are unveiling several key innovations that represent the next chapter of the Proton e.MAS EV lineup:
- 12-in-1 Electric Drive System: An integrated power unit designed for enhanced efficiency, compactness, and performance.
- Cell-to-Body Technology: A breakthrough that improves structural rigidity, safety, and energy efficiency by integrating the battery directly into the vehicle frame.
- Short Blade Battery: Optimized for higher energy density, faster charging, and extended lifespan to meet modern EV demands.
- Proton e.MAS 5: The brand’s latest all-electric hatchback, combining intelligent features, agile performance, and accessible pricing for wider EV adoption.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience Proton’s EVs first-hand with test drives available for the Proton e.MAS 7 and Proton e.MAS 5 throughout the expo.

In addition, Proton and PRO-NET will participate in MITI ASEAN Day 2025, featuring the Mini Malaysia Autoshow from 14–15 November at Menara MITI. The event will showcase the Proton e.MAS 5, supporting MARii’s mission to strengthen Malaysia’s automotive ecosystem in line with the National Automotive Policy 2020 (NAP 2020). Visitors can also get an early preview of the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow.
