PRO-NET has achieved another milestone in its e.MAS lineup, further cementing Malaysia’s transition toward sustainable mobility. Since its launch, the Proton e.MAS 7 has recorded total sales of 7,413 units—6,954 sold locally and 459 units exported—as of 31 October 2025, maintaining its position as Malaysia’s No. 1 EV model for ten consecutive months.
Building on this success, the recently-launched Proton e.MAS 5, touted as Malaysia’s first affordable EV, has generated tremendous nationwide interest, amassing over 10,000 bookings to date. This remarkable response highlights the increasing adoption of electric mobility among Malaysians while reinforcing PRO-NET’s mission to deliver accessible, high-quality EVs for all.
“We are truly humbled by the continued support Malaysians have shown towards both the Proton e.MAS 7 and now, the Proton e.MAS 5,” said Mr. Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET. “Each booking is a testament to the trust Malaysians place in us to deliver the e.MAS 5 at the highest standards. As the national automaker, we are committed to making electric mobility more accessible, reliable, and practical for everyday use.”
Bookings for the e.MAS 5 are particularly strong in the Central Region, followed by the Southern and Northern Regions. Interest in East Malaysia and the East Coast is also steadily rising, demonstrating the broad appeal of the country’s first affordable EV.
Dealer insights reveal that many e.MAS 5 customers are working professionals choosing the vehicle as their primary daily car. Others are acquiring it as a secondary household vehicle, while a growing number of first-time buyers are drawn to the compact, low-cost, and sustainable hatchback. The Power Trade-In programme, offering an additional RM1,000 rebate for trading in older vehicles, has further encouraged adoption.
Early buyers cite affordability, practicality, and a well-rounded driving experience as key reasons for selecting the e.MAS 5. The vehicle’s compact size, stylish design, and intelligent technology make it an ideal choice for daily commuting, while its eco-friendly credentials appeal to a new generation of drivers prioritizing sustainability.
To encourage further adoption, Proton is offering the e.MAS 5 with a limited-time RM3,000 launch rebate until 31 December 2025, alongside a comprehensive launch package valued at up to RM8,000. This package includes a free 7kW home charger, five years of unlimited internet data, and exclusive ownership benefits designed to make EV ownership more rewarding.
