Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has taken another bold step in advancing the nation’s electric mobility landscape through a new partnership with DC Handal, a Malaysian leader in EV charging and energy solutions. Together, the two companies have unveiled a new Mercedes-Benz branded EV charging hub at Bamboo Hills, Kuala Lumpur — a strategic addition designed to strengthen the brand’s nationwide charging network and enhance convenience for electric vehicle owners.

Developed in collaboration with Hap Seng Star, one of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s long-standing retail partners, the Bamboo Hills hub reflects the brand’s commitment to expanding accessible and intelligent charging solutions across the country. Positioned at a bustling lifestyle destination, the hub aligns with Mercedes-Benz’s strategy of placing charging infrastructure at key locations where customers live, work, and unwind.

This latest hub joins an expanding network of branded charging facilities, making Bamboo Hills the sixth location under Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s nationwide rollout, which already includes partnerships with JomCharge, ChargeEV, Gentari, and P.UP.

“With Bamboo Hills, we are accelerating the charge, bringing our electric vehicle owners closer to an era where performance, innovation, and sustainability converge,” said Amanda Zhang, CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. “This collaboration with DC Handal and Hap Seng Star reflects our strategic commitment to enhancing the Mercedes-Benz EV ecosystem in Malaysia, ensuring that every vehicle is supported by a robust and intelligent charging infrastructure. This initiative also reflects our alignment with the brand’s global Ambition 2039 strategy toward sustainable mobility.”

The Bamboo Hills charging hub represents more than infrastructure—it symbolizes Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s holistic approach to electric mobility. Through a multi-channel charging ecosystem that spans home installations, retail outlets, lifestyle destinations, and even mobile charging services, the brand aims to make electrification an effortless part of the Mercedes-Benz ownership experience.

From DC Handal’s perspective, the partnership underscores a shared vision for reliable, high-performance, and sustainable charging solutions.

“Our partnership with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia at Bamboo Hills represents a significant step forward in delivering reliable, high-performance charging infrastructure that meets the expectations of premium EV drivers,” said Zamri bin Mahmud, Director of DC Handal. “By combining our technical expertise with Mercedes-Benz’s vision for sustainable luxury mobility, we’re ensuring that EV charging is not only fast and dependable but also seamlessly integrated into the places where people live, work, and play.”

Edmin Naidoo, Vice President of Customer Services for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia & SEA II, added that the initiative goes beyond convenience — it is about enriching the overall customer journey.

“This next phase of our charging strategy is about more than just infrastructure. It is about creating meaningful touchpoints that elevate every journey,” he shared. “Through our partnerships with DC Handal and Hap Seng Star, we are strengthening Malaysia’s EV ecosystem while delivering an ownership experience that goes beyond the road.”

Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, together with its retail partners, plans to continue expanding its charging footprint with additional hubs expected by the end of 2025. With eleven battery-electric vehicles already in its local portfolio — including the recently introduced Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology — the brand continues to drive forward a vision of sustainable luxury where innovation, performance, and environmental responsibility meet seamlessly.
