ShopeePay has partnered with Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad to roll out two new Personal Accident insurance plans, reinforcing its commitment to financial inclusion under the mission “Simple Finance for All.”
With premiums set at RM50 and RM75 annually, both plans are eligible under the government’s Perlindungan Tenang Voucher (PTV) Programme, which provides a RM30 subsidy to up to two million Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients, as outlined in the National Budget 2025. This makes protection even more affordable, with eligible customers paying as little as RM20 per year (excluding SST).
The plans are designed to suit different protection needs, offering Malaysians peace of mind with accessible premiums:
- Plan 1 (RM50/year, or RM20 with PTV)
- Death or Permanent Disablement: RM30,000
- Hospital Income (Government Hospitals): RM50 per day, up to 30 days
- Medical Expenses (Government Hospitals): Up to RM500
- Emergency Relief (Flood Evacuation): RM500 lump sum
- Plan 2 (RM75/year, or RM45 with PTV)
- Death or Permanent Disablement: RM50,000
- Hospital Income (Government Hospitals): RM100 per day, up to 30 days
- Medical Expenses (Government Hospitals): Up to RM750
- Emergency Relief (Flood Evacuation): RM750 lump sum
Both plans are open to Malaysian citizens aged 18 to 59, making them widely accessible to working adults and families seeking protection.
Purchasing is made easy through the Shopee or ShopeePay app. Eligible users only need to tap “Tenang” under the Insurance Homepage, verify voucher eligibility, and confirm their details before completing the payment. Successful applicants will be notified by email and will also receive a RM10 Shopee voucher with no minimum spend as a bonus.
This collaboration reflects ShopeePay’s alignment with Bank Negara Malaysia’s Perlindungan Tenang programme, which focuses on providing affordable financial protection to underserved groups. By lowering barriers to entry, ShopeePay and Allianz aim to ensure more Malaysians are safeguarded against life’s uncertainties without straining their budgets.
