XPENG Motors has officially launched its global Over-the-Air (OTA) upgrade of XOS 5.8.0 starting August 25. This isn’t just another software update—it’s a leap forward in delivering personalized, intelligent driving experiences that reflect XPENG’s deep commitment to user-centric innovation.

XOS 5.8.0 marks XPENG’s third major OTA release in 2025, following the success of XOS 5.4.5 in January and XOS 5.6.0 in May. Each update has consistently raised the bar for safety, personalization, and smart driving assistance. This latest upgrade underscores XPENG’s pledge to listen to user feedback and deliver solutions that meet global expectations while pushing the boundaries of electric mobility.

One of the headline features of XOS 5.8.0 is the introduction of Human-Machine Co-Driving—making XPENG the first automaker in Europe to offer this capability as standard.

With Lane Centering Control (LCC) now sharing control with the driver rather than disengaging during manual steering, driving becomes smoother and more natural. The system also demonstrates improved handling in complex scenarios such as highway merges and exits, reducing steering oscillation. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) has been refined for better cornering speeds and more comfortable deceleration, further enhancing driving confidence.

Understanding the needs of pet-loving families, XPENG introduces Pet Mode—a feature designed to keep pets safe and comfortable when left briefly inside the vehicle. This mode automatically locks doors, closes windows, and maintains a stable cabin climate. Owners receive real-time alerts through the XPENG app and can manage the system remotely, ensuring their pets remain safe in any weather.

Adding a fun twist to in-car experiences, XOS 5.8.0 introduces hands-free karaoke through KaraFun. Available for download from the in-car App Store, this feature transforms any journey into a sing-along session, making road trips even more enjoyable.

In response to user feedback, XPENG has made significant enhancements to comfort features, such as lowering the air conditioning minimum temperature to 16°C—ideal for tropical climates. Safety gets a boost too, with the Dashcam now supporting Emergency Recording.

The XCOMBO system also expands its capabilities, now offering support for 21 languages and over 700 atomic functions. With these tools, users can create and edit personalized driving scenarios through the car’s display or mobile app. Whether it’s switching to energy-saving mode or setting the perfect ambiance for entertainment, it’s all available at a single tap.

“With the rollout of XOS 5.8.0, XPENG creates a more diverse, convenient, and intelligent mobility space for our users worldwide,” said Alex Tang, Head of International Development of Services. “We will continue listening closely to our global community, ensuring that every evolution of XPENG technology remains driven by your needs and aspirations.”

As XPENG advances its global footprint, XOS 5.8.0 exemplifies the brand’s mission to deliver cutting-edge, user-focused innovation that enhances every journey.
