Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET), the electric mobility arm of PROTON, has once again reaffirmed its market leadership as the Proton e.MAS 7 continues to reign as Malaysia’s best-selling electric vehicle for the seventh consecutive month. The model’s momentum shows no signs of slowing, with strong deliveries and a record surge in bookings recorded in July 2025.
By the end of July, a total of 4,959 e.MAS 7 units had been delivered — 4,689 within Malaysia and 270 shipped to overseas markets. July alone saw 1,365 new bookings, the highest monthly total since its launch, cementing the model’s reputation as the go-to choice for EV buyers.
“Our mission from the start was to deliver an EV that offers Malaysians outstanding comfort, performance, and advanced features without an unreasonable price tag,” said Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET. “The unwavering demand reflects that we have struck the right balance, and we are grateful to our customers for making the e.MAS 7 their number one EV.”
The Proton e.MAS 7 has found favour with a diverse range of drivers. The Prime variant, popular among city commuters, represents 14% of deliveries, while the Premium variant leads with 86%. Buyers consistently highlight the vehicle’s spacious cabin, value-for-money proposition, smooth ride, advanced safety systems, and intuitive technology as key reasons for their choice.
Platinum Silver tops the colour chart with 25% of orders. Responding to customer tastes, PROTON recently expanded the palette with the introduction of Obsidian Black, along with limited-edition Turquoise Green and Quartz Rose finishes, paired with a luxurious Alabaster White interior for added personalisation.
Market studies show most Malaysian e.MAS 7 drivers travel between 21 km to 40 km daily — meaning a single weekly recharge is sufficient for typical usage. Owners enjoy convenient access to over 3,400 charging points nationwide through the Live Integrated Charging Network, covering more than 90% of the country. This includes over 1,100 chargers across 930 high-rise residential buildings, ensuring urban owners are equally catered for.
Backing this is a comprehensive aftersales support structure of 29 service centres, 10 body and paint centres, and 35 dealerships nationwide.
To further drive EV adoption, PRO-NET’s Power Exchange programme offers customers a RM5,000 trade-in bonus on top of their vehicle’s assessed value — regardless of brand or age — subject to inspection and approval. The initiative lowers the entry barrier for first-time EV buyers while promoting greener mobility.
