OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia has officially unveiled the all-new JAECOO J8 SUV, its latest flagship offering that promises to redefine the premium SUV landscape through a fusion of cutting-edge technology, commanding design, and luxurious off-road capability. Positioned as “Off Road First Class,” the J8 is the brand’s boldest statement yet—elevating adventure to new heights without compromising on comfort or sophistication.
Launched exactly one year after the debut of the successful J7, the JAECOO J8 marks a major milestone for the brand, which now boasts over 17,000 vehicles on Malaysian roads. “The J8 will define a new altitude of technology, performance and adventure for OMODA | JAECOO, while staying true to our ethos of attainable luxury,” said Emily Lek, Vice President of OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia. 
With a length of 4,820 mm, width of 1,930 mm, and height of 1,710 mm, the JAECOO J8 sits on a robust 2,820 mm wheelbase, creating a spacious and solid presence on the road. Its striking Waterfall front grille, golden-ratio silhouette, hidden door handles, and 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels contribute to both its elegance and aerodynamic efficiency. 
Under the hood, the J8 is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged direct-injection engine delivering 183 kW and 385 Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the J8 offers both 2WD and AWD options. The AWD variant features an intelligent torque vectoring system for superior grip and stability across varying terrains. With 0–100 km/h performance ranging from 8.8 to 9.0 seconds and top speeds of 200 km/h, the J8 blends capability with efficiency — delivering 7.8L/100km (2WD) and 8.1L/100km (AWD) fuel consumption based on WLTP standards.
To enhance ride comfort across terrain, the J8 is equipped with a CDC (Continuous Damping Control) suspension, enabling millisecond-level responsiveness for terrain-specific damping.
Inside, the J8 is a statement in minimalist luxury and first-class travel inspiration. The AWD variant offers a six-seater (2+2+2) configuration, while the 2WD model offers a spacious five-seater layout, expanding cargo space versatility. With up to 2,021 litres of boot capacity (2WD with second-row folded), the J8 makes room for every adventure. 
Twin 12.3-inch widescreens, a wide Head-Up Display (HUD), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and 256-colour ambient lighting all come standard to ensure an intuitive and modern driving experience.
Luxury is further amplified in the AWD variant with a first-in-class Queen’s front passenger seat, offering adjustable leg support and full HVMM functionality (Heated, Ventilated, Massage, and Memory) across front and second-row seats.
Other upscale features include a microfiber headliner, NFC keyless entry, a built-in fragrance system, and a 50W cooled wireless charger. Sound systems are customised for each variant—12-speaker Sony system in the 2WD and a 14-speaker Sony setup with headrest speakers in the AWD. 
The J8 comes with a comprehensive Level 2.5 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), including Adaptive Cruise Control, Driver Monitoring System, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Fully Automated Parking in the AWD version. These systems are enhanced by a OneBox brake-by-wire system tailored to the J8’s proportions for seamless and safe handling. 
The JAECOO J8 is proudly locally assembled at Chery Corporate Malaysia’s facility in Shah Alam, underlining the brand’s long-term commitment to the Malaysian market and contributing to the local automotive ecosystem.
Staying true to its vision of attainable luxury, the JAECOO J8 is priced from RM178,800 for the 2WD variant and RM198,800 for the AWD. Customers who book by 21st July 2025 will receive an exclusive JAECOO Prime Protection Programme that includes:
