Hap Seng Trucks Distribution (HSTD) recently unveiled the new Mercedes-Benz EQV 300. Making its debut in the AVANTGARDE trim, this all-electric MPV marks the brand’s first major model launch under HSTD’s stewardship—signaling a new chapter for premium electric mobility in the country.
Held at an exclusive media showcase, the EQV 300 captivated attention with its harmonious blend of timeless Mercedes-Benz craftsmanship and forward-thinking EV technology. The refreshed design includes MULTIBEAM LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a distinctive rear chrome trim accented with Mercedes-Benz lettering. The AVANTGARDE styling cues not only elevate the van’s executive presence but also establish it as a standout in the luxury EV segment.
Inside, the EQV 300 is designed to feel like a mobile lounge. The cabin features dual 12.3-inch widescreens, redesigned air vents, capacitive-touch steering controls, and ambient lighting with a choice of 64 colours. The Burmester® surround sound system, powered by 15 speakers and a 640 W amplifier, ensures a rich audio experience from every seat. Luxurious Lugano leather seats and powered sliding doors on both sides enhance the van’s comfort and accessibility.
“Today’s reveal of the Mercedes-Benz EQV 300 represents a meaningful evolution in how we define luxury, performance, and sustainability,” said Mr Derrick Sim, CEO of Hap Seng Trucks Distribution. “With its enhanced digital experience, redesigned styling, and commitment to sustainability, the new EQV is a statement of our direction and an invitation to drive forward with purpose.”
Performance-wise, the EQV 300 is powered by a front-mounted electric motor delivering 204 PS and 365 Nm of torque, supported by a 90 kWh usable lithium-ion battery. This setup allows for an electric range of up to 418 km (NEDC). Charging is efficient, with AC charging at 11 kW and DC fast-charging at 110 kW, enabling a 10–80% charge in about 40 minutes. Drivers can switch between four drive modes—Comfort, Sport, Eco, and Maximum Range—to tailor the experience, while the van tops out at 160 km/h.
Mercedes-Benz’s hallmark focus on safety is well reflected here. The EQV 300 comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including Active Brake Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, and a 360° camera with Active Parking Assist. Multiple airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, and the brand’s signature ATTENTION Assist system round out its safety credentials.
In support of Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the EQV 300 underscores Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to a greener, smarter automotive future. To mark its market entry, HSTD is offering a launch package that includes a complimentary Wallbox charger, three years of scheduled maintenance, and a RM10,000 booking rebate. The EQV 300 is priced at RM450,000 (on-the-road, without insurance) and is covered by a two-year vehicle warranty (or 200,000 km) and an eight-year battery warranty (or up to 160,000 km).
To allow more Malaysians to experience the EQV 300 firsthand, HSTD will host a pop-up roadshow at Bangsar Shopping Centre from 21 to 27 July 2025. Visitors can interact with the vehicle, speak with product specialists, and discover what it means when Mercedes-Benz luxury meets electric innovation.
