In a vibrant celebration of sustainable mobility and a decade of innovation, GoCar Mobility, Malaysia’s leading car-sharing and mobility platform, joined forces with Yinson GreenTech’s EV leasing arm, drivEV, to energize KL Car-Free Morning (KLCFM) on Sunday, 22 June 2025. Under the theme “Living the Green Way,” the collaboration showcased a shared vision for cleaner cities, healthier lifestyles, and accessible electric mobility for all Malaysians.

Marking its 10th anniversary, GoCar has grown from a humble startup in 2015 into a nationwide leader in urban mobility solutions. Today, it offers car sharing, flexible subscriptions, and an ever-growing GoEV fleet, which reflects its unwavering commitment to sustainable transportation.

KLCFM provided the perfect platform to celebrate this milestone while educating the public about the benefits and ease of transitioning to electric vehicles (EVs). Eye-catching models like the ORA Good Cat and AION Y Plus were on display, drawing crowds and interest with their futuristic features and eco-credentials.

The GoCar x drivEV zone at the heart of KL City Centre was buzzing with interactive activities and community engagement. Visitors explored the EV Showcase, learned about services at the GoCar App Sign-Up Zone, and had fun with games like the Wheel of Fortune and EV quizzes to win exclusive merchandise and eco-friendly goodies.

Sustainability was a hands-on experience at the Recycle Station, where attendees could exchange plastic bottles for tokens, reinforcing the message of environmental responsibility. Meanwhile, a Juice Bar and Experience Wall added refreshing and memorable touches to the green-themed gathering.

In a move to make EV adoption even more appealing, GoCar launched a special promotional offer during the event — 50% off (capped at RM80) on all GoCar EV bookings using the promo code ‘JOMEVKL’. The offer, valid from 22 June to 22 July 2025 for travel until 30 September 2025, was met with enthusiastic uptake from attendees eager to embrace cleaner transport.

Through the GoCar app, users can book a variety of EVs — including the AION Y Plus, Great Wall Motor Ora Good Cat, Nissan Leaf, and Renault Zoe — on an hourly or daily basis, making it easier than ever to explore the electric lifestyle.

Wong Hoe Mun, CEO of GoCar Mobility Sdn Bhd, reflected on the significance of the event: “This event was more than a gathering — it was a national call to action, showcasing how GoCar helps Malaysians embrace greener lifestyles with accessible electric mobility. As we celebrated 10 years of innovation, we were proud to drive Malaysia’s shift toward cleaner, smarter mobility at KL Car-Free Morning — where health, sustainability, and community came together.”

Kelvin Soon, Managing Director of drivEV, echoed the sentiment: “Our partnership with GoCar is built on a mutual belief: that green mobility should be easy, accessible, and affordable. Today’s encouraging public response reaffirmed our joint efforts in enabling greener transportation to be widely adopted.”

The successful collaboration between GoCar and drivEV at KLCFM stands as a powerful testament to how public-private initiatives can accelerate the journey toward a sustainable future. With more Malaysians taking interest in EVs and eco-conscious living, the road ahead looks promising.
