inDrive has once again reinforced its global standing in the mobility space, retaining its position as the world’s second most downloaded ride-hailing application for the fourth consecutive year. According to Sensor Tower, the platform also climbed to become the fourth most downloaded travel app worldwide in 2025—an improvement from its fifth-place ranking the year before.
The company’s continued rise is reflected in its growing global footprint. With more than 400 million downloads, inDrive now operates in over 1,065 cities across 48 countries, facilitating upwards of 8 billion transactions. The latest data shows the app securing the top spot in the travel category by downloads in nine countries, while consistently ranking among the top three in 22 markets.
In Malaysia, inDrive has steadily built a strong presence, particularly in key urban hubs such as Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, and Penang. The platform recorded a significant increase in new active users throughout 2025, highlighting a shift in consumer preferences toward more transparent and flexible ride-hailing options.
The broader ride-hailing industry continues to play a vital role within Malaysia’s gig economy, offering flexible earning opportunities for drivers while supporting the daily commuting needs of millions. As conversations around fair earnings and transparency intensify, alternative business models are gaining traction—especially those that prioritize user empowerment.
inDrive stands out with its unique peer-to-peer pricing system, allowing passengers and drivers to negotiate fares directly. This model appeals to drivers seeking greater control over their income, while also providing passengers with clearer visibility on pricing before confirming a ride.
To further enhance its service, inDrive has integrated AI and advanced data analytics into its platform. These improvements focus on optimizing route matching, refining estimated arrival times, and delivering a smoother overall user experience—without compromising its core philosophy of user-driven pricing.
Beyond ride-hailing, 2025 marked a pivotal year for inDrive as it accelerated its transformation into a super app. The platform has expanded its offerings to include intercity transport, courier services, grocery delivery, and even financial solutions. This diversification is aimed at increasing user engagement by meeting a broader range of everyday needs.
Arsen Tomsky, Founder and CEO of inDrive, emphasized the significance of this achievement, noting that maintaining its global ranking reflects the trust users place in the platform. He reiterated that as inDrive evolves, the company remains committed to its founding principles of fairness, transparency, and user choice, while continuing to expand services that positively impact daily life.
With strong global performance and a growing ecosystem of services, inDrive appears well-positioned to sustain its upward trajectory in the increasingly competitive mobility landscape.
