OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia has officially introduced its most powerful model to date, the OMODA C9 PHEV Coupe SUV, marking a bold step into the premium performance SUV segment. Combining cutting-edge hybrid engineering with refined luxury, the new model represents a significant leap forward in electrified mobility for the brand.
At the heart of the OMODA C9 PHEV is a groundbreaking Tri-Motor Plug-in Hybrid system, designed to deliver both exhilarating performance and exceptional efficiency. This advanced setup integrates a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with three electric motors—two at the front and one at the rear—working seamlessly through a dedicated 3-speed hybrid transmission. The result is a formidable combined output of 395 kW (537 PS) and 650 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
Beyond its impressive power, the hybrid system is engineered for efficiency. With a fuel consumption rating of just 1.4 litres per 100 km and a total driving range of up to 1,100 km, the C9 PHEV balances performance with practicality. A 34.46 kWh battery allows for up to 169 km of pure electric driving, while fast-charging capabilities ensure minimal downtime.
The driving experience is further enhanced by intelligent all-wheel-drive functionality, multiple drive modes, and adjustable regenerative braking. The vehicle’s adaptive suspension system, featuring Continuous Damping Control, continuously adjusts to road conditions, delivering a balance of comfort and dynamic handling.
Visually, the OMODA C9 PHEV stands out with its coupe-inspired silhouette and commanding road presence. Inside, the cabin reflects a focus on modern luxury, featuring premium materials, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced comfort features such as heated and ventilated seats for both front and rear passengers.
Technology is central to the interior experience, highlighted by dual 12.3-inch displays, voice command functionality, and seamless smartphone integration. A 14-speaker Sony premium sound system and head-up display further enhance convenience and immersion, while thoughtful additions like a built-in fragrance system elevate the overall ambience.
Safety remains a priority, with the C9 PHEV equipped with a comprehensive Level 2.5 Advanced Driver Assistance System. This includes a wide array of features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, autonomous emergency braking, and a 540-degree surround-view camera. The model’s robust construction, incorporating 85% high-strength steel, contributes to its 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
Locally assembled in Shah Alam, the launch underscores OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia’s growing presence in the country’s automotive landscape. Priced from RM208,800, the SUV is positioned as an attainable luxury offering, supported by extensive warranty coverage for both its combustion engine and hybrid components.
To celebrate its arrival, the brand is offering a limited-time launch package that includes a festive rebate, complimentary accessories, and additional incentives for early adopters. The model is also being showcased at a Hari Raya roadshow in Petaling Jaya, where visitors can experience the vehicle firsthand.
