PRO-NET has extended its heartfelt thanks to Malaysians after the Proton e.MAS brand achieved a landmark breakthrough — emerging as Malaysia’s No. 1 EV brand. The accomplishment, powered by strong early-year sales and healthy booking momentum, signals a notable shift in consumer attitudes toward electric and hybrid vehicles.

In its first complete month of customer deliveries, the Proton e.MAS 5 recorded an impressive 3,068 units handed over nationwide, securing its position as Malaysia’s best-selling EV model for the month. Beyond raw numbers, the achievement reflects growing public confidence in electric vehicles as a realistic, accessible solution for everyday driving.

The model’s success was further underscored by its entry into the Top 5 overall passenger vehicles for the same month. The Proton e.MAS 5 captured 49.2% of Malaysia’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) market share and accounted for 4.5% of total car sales, marking a rare crossover where an EV competes directly with conventional combustion models.

According to Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET, the response demonstrates both trust in the brand and an accelerating openness toward electrification. “The encouraging response to the Proton e.MAS 5 reflects Malaysians’ continued trust and confidence in the brand, as well as their growing openness towards electric mobility. We are grateful that many Malaysians have embraced the Proton e.MAS 5 as a practical and accessible step into electrification.”

The Proton e.MAS 5 has resonated strongly with buyers thanks to its blend of practical usability, balanced driving dynamics, and affordability. Its intelligent technology features enhance convenience, comfort, and connectivity — attributes increasingly valued by modern drivers transitioning into EV ownership.

Customer preferences have also begun to shape distinct trends. Moonstone White emerged as the most popular colour choice, followed by Marble Cream and Quartz Rose, highlighting buyers’ inclination toward refined, contemporary finishes.

Riding on the momentum of its strong start to 2026, PRO-NET introduced a series of festive promotions designed to reward customers and support worry-free journeys.

Prospective buyers can now secure their preferred electrified model with a RM99 booking fee, applicable to both the Proton e.MAS 5 and Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV. Customers may register online via the Proton e.MAS website or visit any of the 48 Proton e.MAS dealerships nationwide.

With electrification rapidly gaining traction, Proton e.MAS’ latest milestone highlights a broader transformation underway in Malaysia’s automotive landscape — one where EVs are no longer niche alternatives, but increasingly mainstream choices.
