Proton has officially unveiled the 2026 Proton S70, marking the next chapter in the brand’s sporty sedan lineup. Designed with young professionals and growing families in mind, the refreshed S70 embodies Proton’s guiding philosophy of “Intelligence that Evolves”, focusing on real-world performance, advanced technology and worry-free ownership at an accessible price point.

Positioned as Malaysia’s Sporty Sedan, the 2026 S70 blends dynamic styling, confident driving performance and premium features typically associated with higher-segment models. Since its initial introduction, the S70 has enjoyed strong market acceptance, with over 38,000 units sold to date. Its appeal spans first-time buyers and existing car owners, particularly among younger Malaysians. The latest update reinforces Proton’s commitment to continuous improvement, introducing meaningful enhancements across performance, connectivity, styling and safety.

Under the bonnet, the 2026 Proton S70 is powered by the i-GT 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Delivering 181 PS and 290 Nm of torque, the S70 accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds while achieving an impressive fuel consumption figure of 5.7L/100km.

Jointly developed with global partner Geely, the powertrain benefits from low-inertia turbocharging, friction and vibration reduction technologies, and extensive durability testing. A 12.3-inch floating infotainment display with Full HD resolution now supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, eliminating the need for cables. The 2026 Proton S70 is offered in four variants – Executive, Premium, Flagship and Flagship X – catering to different needs and lifestyles. Exterior colour options include Quartz Black, Marine Blue, Space Grey, Snow White, Armour Silver and the newly introduced Ruby Red.

All purchases come with Proton’s Standard Package, featuring Pro-Warranty with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty and six free labour services, as well as Pro-Connect with a 5-year data package offering 2GB per month. Customers can also benefit from Pro-Finance with financing options of up to nine years, Pro-Xchange trade-in support, and optional Pro-Shield insurance coverage with enhanced protection.

To celebrate the launch, Proton is offering a Special Launch Package to the first 2,000 customers who register their vehicles by 31 March 2026. This includes a RM5,000 rebate and additional ownership benefits, further strengthening the S70’s value proposition.
