Volvo Car Malaysia has officially opened registration of interest for its latest innovation, the Volvo ES90, a fully electric sedan that will soon join the brand’s locally assembled lineup. This move marks a significant milestone as Volvo celebrates 60 years of presence in Malaysia.

From today, prospective buyers can register their interest through Volvo Car Malaysia’s official website at volvocars.com/my/cars/es90-electric. Early registrants will enjoy a 2% early-bird incentive, available exclusively for the first 100 units booked between now and 31 March 2026. Full details on market launch, pricing, and available variants will be revealed at a later date.

Patricia Yaw, Sales & Marketing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, remarked: “This year, as we mark 60 years since Volvo established its presence in Malaysia, it is especially meaningful to commemorate this milestone with the local assembly of the Volvo ES90, our first fully electric sedan. Built on six decades of experience, customer insight, and ongoing innovation, the ES90 reflects how far we have grown and evolved as a brand. Most importantly, it represents our lasting commitment to the Malaysian customers who have supported and inspired us over the years.”

The Volvo ES90 is built on Volvo’s most advanced platform yet, featuring an 800-volt architecture engineered for efficiency and high-performance. Supporting charging speeds up to 350 kW, the ES90 can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes, or gain 300 km of range in just 10 minutes, providing convenience for long-distance travel.

Performance-wise, the ES90 delivers up to 333 PS and 480 Nm of torque, with an estimated WLTP range of up to 651 km per charge, combining both power and practicality for Malaysian roads.

The new sedan is also fully software-defined, leveraging Volvo’s SPA2 platform and Superset tech stack. This unified system of hardware and software modules ensures the ES90 can receive continuous improvements via over-the-air updates, enhancing both functionality and driving experience over time.

Adding to its technological edge, the ES90 features a NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin computing system, the first in any Volvo, offering unparalleled processing power. This system underpins next-generation safety intelligence, AI integration, and data-driven optimisation, elevating both safety and driving enjoyment.

With these innovations and the advantages of local assembly, the Volvo ES90 presents a compelling package of luxury, performance, and practicality.
