UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) ended 2025 on a high, reinforcing Toyota’s standing as one of Malaysia’s most trusted automotive brands. With 14,284 vehicles delivered in December alone, the company closed the year with total sales of 102,417 units—marking the fourth consecutive year Toyota has surpassed the 100,000-unit mark in the local market.
This achievement places Toyota in a league of its own. It is now the first and only non-national automotive brand in Malaysia to record more than 100,000 vehicle sales for four straight years, an accomplishment achieved against the backdrop of intensifying competition, rapid electrification, and increasingly sophisticated consumer expectations.
In a market shaped by new entrants and evolving mobility narratives, UMWT’s performance highlights more than strong sales momentum. It reflects deep-rooted brand loyalty built over decades of consistent quality, reliability, and ownership confidence. Demand continues to come from a broad spectrum of customers, ranging from first-time buyers to long-established Toyota households, underscoring the brand’s reputation for vehicles that remain dependable long after they leave the showroom.
A key driver of this sustained success is Toyota’s Multi-Pathway Approach, which acknowledges that mobility needs vary widely across regions, lifestyles, and infrastructure readiness. Rather than pursuing a one-size-fits-all solution, Toyota offers a diverse portfolio that includes efficient internal combustion engines, hybrid technologies, and future-ready solutions. This strategy supports the brand’s commitment to “Mobility for All,” ensuring progress remains practical, inclusive, and aligned with real-world Malaysian driving conditions.
Reflecting on the milestone, Datuk Ravindran K, President of UMW Toyota Motor, described the achievement as a testament to customer trust. He noted that maintaining this level of performance in a fast-changing and highly competitive environment demonstrates the strength of Toyota’s long-term strategy, its investment in local capabilities, and its understanding of how Malaysians use their vehicles. Guided by a Customer First mindset and the “Best in Town” philosophy, Toyota remains focused on delivering mobility solutions that are reliable, inclusive, and built for long-term ownership.
Looking ahead, UMWT plans to build on its 2025 momentum by expanding its network, enhancing service standards, and introducing initiatives that align with evolving customer expectations. As Toyota closes the year on a historic note, the brand remains firmly committed to shaping Malaysia’s mobility future with solutions designed to endure.
Further strengthening ownership confidence, UMWT introduced the Toyota Extend Plan in December 2025. This programme allows eligible customers to extend their existing five-year warranty by up to three additional years, providing coverage of up to eight years depending on the model and package selected. Available for selected models such as the Vios, Corolla Cross, Yaris, and Corolla, the plan offers both Basic and Premium options. With claims handled at authorised Toyota Service Centres nationwide and transferable coverage for subsequent owners, the initiative enhances peace of mind while supporting long-term vehicle value.
