In 2025, Proton e.MAS made a measurable impact on Malaysia’s sustainability landscape, with 9,549 owners contributing to cleaner air and quieter streets through everyday driving. By shifting to electric mobility, these vehicles have helped reduce fossil fuel dependence and street-level pollution, giving owners a meaningful “Head Start” toward their sustainability goals.
The milestone coincides with the first anniversary of the Proton e.MAS 7, which ended the year as Malaysia’s best-selling electric vehicle. Meanwhile, the newly launched Proton e.MAS 5 is quickly gaining popularity as the nation’s first affordable EV.
As of 31 December 2025, Proton e.MAS 7 recorded 9,336 registrations—8,677 in Malaysia and 659 exported—while 213 units of the e.MAS 5 had already reached early customers. PRO-NET, the official distributor of Proton electric vehicles, worked closely with its dealer network to ensure a seamless delivery, sales, and after-sales experience, helping drivers transition confidently into electric ownership.
“2025 marked a significant Head Start for Proton e.MAS—not just in numbers, but in real-world environmental impact,” said Mr Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET. “With thousands of e.MAS vehicles on the road, we are seeing tangible benefits in cleaner air, quieter urban commutes, and reduced fuel consumption.”
Looking forward, PRO-NET aims to expand its electric vehicle lineup, strengthen charging infrastructure, and make electric mobility practical, accessible, and rewarding for Malaysian drivers.
Combined, the e.MAS 7 and e.MAS 5 fleet is estimated to offset up to 10 million litres of petrol annually, avoiding approximately 21,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, electric vehicles reduce nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, while generating 6–10 decibels less noise than conventional vehicles at low speeds—bringing immediate street-level benefits to densely populated areas.
Launched in December 2024, the e.MAS 7 represents PRO-NET’s first fully electric model, developed with over 700,000 man-hours and tested for 10 million kilometres to ensure reliable real-world performance. Beyond sales, it has become a national and regional symbol of sustainable mobility:
- ASEAN Summit 2025: 61 units served key delegates and officials, reinforcing government confidence in Proton’s EV leadership.
- ASEAN Unity Drive 2025: Completed a 10,432 km journey across nine ASEAN countries, demonstrating battery reliability and safety.
- Proton e.MAS 7 Tour: A nationwide roadshow allowed Malaysians to experience the EV firsthand across major cities in Peninsular and East Malaysia.
- New Variants: In July 2025, exterior and interior colour options were added to meet customer preferences and improve user experience.
From national recognition to regional representation, the e.MAS 7 has set a benchmark for electric mobility in Malaysia.
The e.MAS 5, launched on 30 October 2025 as Malaysia’s first affordable EV, has made electric mobility accessible to a wider audience. By the end of 2025, the model had over 14,600 bookings nationwide. The first batch of vehicles began deliveries in December, with phased rollout continuing into early 2026 to meet strong demand.
To celebrate Proton e.MAS’ success, PRO-NET has introduced exclusive after-sales benefits for all owners starting January 2026:
- Complimentary car wash at selected service centres
- Free charging up to 80% (subject to availability)

These initiatives aim to ensure a seamless and rewarding EV ownership experience, backed by Malaysia’s largest dealer and service network. With EV adoption accelerating, Proton e.MAS continues to lead in affordability, reliability, and accessibility, while planning further new energy vehicle launches and nationwide charging infrastructure expansion.
