Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has unveiled the all-new electric Mercedes-Benz CLA in an exclusive preview, giving customers an early glimpse of the brand’s next evolution in design, technology and performance. The model will be showcased from 15 to 18 January 2026 at the newly launched Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar, marking an important milestone as the brand looks ahead to the future of mobility.
The debut of the new CLA coincides with a historic moment for Mercedes-Benz. In 2026, the brand celebrates 140 years since the 1886 patent of the world’s first gasoline-powered automobile. Over more than a century, Mercedes-Benz has continuously shaped the automotive landscape through engineering excellence, iconic styling, meticulous craftsmanship and a strong focus on customer experience. The all-new CLA represents the next chapter of this legacy in the electric age.
Compared to its predecessor, the new CLA delivers significant gains across every dimension. It offers more space, improved comfort and refinement, greater efficiency and a higher level of digital intelligence. As the first model in a new product rollout, it signals how Mercedes-Benz is advancing electric mobility, intelligent software and contemporary design for a new generation of drivers.
At the heart of the all-new CLA is the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), making it the most intelligent Mercedes-Benz to date. As the first vehicle to fully run on this in-house developed system, the CLA is equipped with supercomputers connected to the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud. This architecture enables regular over-the-air updates for key vehicle functions, including driving assistance systems, ensuring the car remains current and competitive throughout its lifecycle.
The latest MBUX Virtual Assistant further transforms the driving experience. Powered by generative AI, it supports natural, multi-turn conversations and features short-term memory, creating a more intuitive interaction between driver and vehicle. Built on ChatGPT-4o and enhanced with Microsoft Bing searches, it draws from a vast pool of online knowledge. Integration with Google Gemini and Google Maps allows it to deliver detailed and personalised navigation-related information. Visually represented by a “living” Mercedes-Benz star on the Zero Layer, the assistant can even recognise emotions and adapt its responses during active conversations.
In terms of efficiency, the all-new electric CLA sets new benchmarks in its segment. Often described as the “one-litre car” of the electric era, it achieves energy consumption as low as 12.2 kWh/100 km and offers a driving range of up to 792 km (WLTP). Its advanced 800-volt electrical architecture, paired with a new battery generation, significantly shortens charging times, allowing up to 325 kilometres of range to be added in just ten minutes.
Visually, the CLA makes a bold statement with a design that blends intelligence and emotion. Its long wheelbase, short overhangs and GT-style rear create a dynamic and athletic stance. Sporty proportions are accentuated by a low greenhouse, long bonnet with power domes, pronounced shoulders and large wheels. Clean surfaces, reduced lines and precise detailing emphasise the sculptural form, while strong character lines along the sides create striking light-and-shadow effects.
The iconic A-shaped grille has been reimagined for the electric era with a seamless, fully illuminated star panel. For the first time on a Mercedes-Benz production model, 142 individually animated LED chrome-effect stars form a distinctive and instantly recognisable brand signature. Adding to the sense of openness is a full-length panoramic glass roof, extending from the windscreen to the rear without a central brace, offering passengers an almost unobstructed view of the sky.
Practicality has also been enhanced. The all-new electric CLA is the first modern Mercedes-Benz to feature a front trunk, providing 101 litres of additional storage space. At the rear, the luggage compartment offers 405 litres of capacity, ensuring everyday usability alongside its sleek design.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ with EQ Technology is now open for pre-booking in Malaysia via the official website, with an estimated price starting from RM295,888 (on the road, without insurance, including 10% SST) for Peninsular Malaysia.
Beyond product innovation, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia continues to place strong emphasis on customer loyalty. As part of its ongoing commitment to long-term ownership experiences, the brand is preparing initiatives such as the upcoming 100,000 km Club. This programme is designed to celebrate customer trust and dedication by offering exclusive privileges and experiences, reinforcing Mercedes-Benz’s promise to support its customers throughout every stage of their journey for many years to come.
