BMW Group Malaysia has reinforced its presence in Northern Malaysia with the unveiling of two significant developments in Alor Setar, Kedah: the relocation of Lee Motors to a new state-of-the-art Retail.NEXT showroom and the introduction of a high-capacity electric vehicle (EV) charging station in collaboration with DC Handal. Together, these initiatives reflect the brand’s continued focus on delivering a comprehensive premium ownership journey that combines world-class retail experiences with seamless electric mobility infrastructure.
The newly relocated Lee Motors dealership is now located at 218, Jalan Gangsa, Kawasan Perusahaan Mergong II, Alor Setar. Spanning approximately 50,000 square feet, the facility has been designed in line with BMW’s global Retail.NEXT concept, placing customer experience, modern luxury, and digital integration at the forefront of automotive retail.
The showroom features dedicated Sales and Service Lounges, a Handover Lounge, Hospitality Area, and a Reception at the Retail After-Sales Touchpoint (RATC). Customers can access a full suite of services under one roof, including Sales, Service, Spare Parts, Authorised Body and Paint services, as well as Financial Services. Supported by a team of 50 trained professionals, the dealership is well equipped to serve both new and existing BMW customers across Kedah.
BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director, Benjamin Nagel, noted that the relocated Lee Motors facility represents more than an expansion. It embodies the Retail.NEXT philosophy, where contemporary architecture and advanced digitalisation create a customer-centric environment. He added that Lee Motors’ evolution into a larger, modernised dealership mirrors the region’s growing appetite for premium mobility and rising expectations of how luxury automotive retail should be experienced.
Echoing this sentiment, Lee Motors Managing Director Eugene Lee highlighted that the relocation marks the company’s most significant investment to date. After more than 20 years of serving customers in Kedah, the new facility has been designed to deliver an elevated experience at every touchpoint, strengthening long-standing customer relationships.
The new Lee Motors showroom has achieved GreenRE Bronze certification, underscoring its commitment to sustainable building practices. Its expanded footprint also allows for future capacity planning, enabling the dealership to grow beyond its current annual sales volume of approximately 200 to 250 units and continue meeting customer demand in the years ahead.
The showroom operates daily from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, while the service centre is open from Sunday to Friday during the same hours, excluding Saturdays.
Complementing the showroom relocation, BMW Group Malaysia has also expanded its electric mobility ecosystem in Alor Setar with the installation of a new EV charging station. Operated by DC Handal in partnership with Lee Motors, the facility is equipped with one 180 kW DC fast charger and two 60 kW DC chargers. Charging rates start from RM1.30 per kWh, offering EV owners fast, reliable, and convenient charging options.
According to Benjamin Nagel, BMW’s leadership in premium electric mobility extends beyond vehicle offerings to encompass the entire ownership experience. The new charging station assures customers that transitioning to electric mobility does not compromise convenience or confidence, supported by strong partnerships with dealer networks and charging point operators nationwide.
As of 2025, BMW Group Malaysia has deployed more than 2,000 charging facilities across the country. Recent expansions in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur further highlight the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance EV accessibility in high-traffic areas.
