Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the new Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4MATIC Night Series, a model that pushes the boundaries of ultra-luxury motoring with a design philosophy centred on exclusivity, presence, and bespoke craftsmanship. While the standard Maybach S-Class already stands at the peak of refinement, the Night Series takes luxury in an entirely new direction—one defined by darker aesthetics, jewel-like accents, and a heightened sense of mystique.
According to Nadia Trimmel, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, the Night Series is designed for discerning individuals who seek a unique expression of status and identity. “Every element, from the darkened exterior accents to the carefully detailed interior, is created to provide a truly bespoke experience,” she shared—perfectly capturing what sets this model apart.
The Night Series enhances the iconic Maybach silhouette with a collection of exclusive finishes available in grey, black, and white tones, along with distinctive two-tone combinations such as onyx black paired with Mojave silver, or the striking MANUFAKTUR opalite white bright/obsidian black.
But the true character lies in the details. Dark metallic chrome, black accents, and even rose gold elements within the DIGITAL LIGHT headlights add depth and contrast. Surfaces shimmer like cut jewels, the result of meticulous finishing designed to catch the eye without shouting for attention.
Signature Maybach styling cues—such as the radiator grille, C-pillar emblem, and the unmistakable long side profile—are reimagined with dark shadow gloss. Twin tailpipes, window surrounds, and mirror housings continue the theme, creating a unified aesthetic that radiates confidence and sophistication.
Completing the look are illuminated “MAYBACH Night Series” door sills and bespoke 20-inch Maybach light-alloy wheels, featuring integrated aero elements in black and dark shadow gloss. Even the vehicle key receives the Night Series treatment.
As one would expect from Maybach, the interior is nothing short of exceptional. The Night Series introduces a unique Black with Black Pearl nappa leather upholstery, featuring a delicate mother-of-pearl sheen that contrasts beautifully with golden-grey piping. This attention to detail communicates luxury without overstatement—exactly the kind of refinement that Maybach owners appreciate.
A new “Garnet Glow” ambient lighting theme adds warmth and modernity, while natural sophistication is provided by dark brown open-pore walnut wood in a herringbone pattern. The black crystal-look centre console—subtly finished with a Maybach motif—ties the interior together, offering a sense of artistry beneath the surface.
The theme continues into the digital realm with the Night Series’ exclusive user interface start-up animation inspired by “black labels and backlights,” reinforcing the vehicle’s mysterious, polished character the moment the car powers up.
The Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4MATIC Night Series is powered by a 3,982 cc V8 paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 503 hp and 700 Nm of torque. With an additional 17 kW and 205 Nm from the electric motor, the sedan sprints from 0–100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds—impressive for a vehicle that prioritises serene comfort over raw athleticism.
Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, ensuring effortless cruising even at high speeds. Yet the true charm lies in its quiet, confident acceleration—perfectly in line with the Maybach ethos of power delivered with grace.
Priced from RM 2,404,888 (on-the-road without insurance), the Night Series represents the uppermost tier of luxury motoring in Malaysia.
