Proton has opened its doors to the future with the launch of the Proton Technology Showcase at the company’s Centre of Excellence (COE). The multi-day event gathers the brand’s most significant engineering breakthroughs—spanning electrification, powertrains, and connectivity—while offering the public unprecedented access to the technologies shaping Proton’s next era.
Officiated by Proton CEO Dr. Li Chunrong and Deputy CEO Dato’ Abdul Rashid Musa, the showcase reflects Proton’s commitment to innovation as it accelerates forward in both EV and ICE development under the DRB-HICOM and Geely partnership.
The Proton Technology Showcase gives visitors a hands-on opportunity to explore the systems powering Proton’s newest and upcoming models. With everything displayed under one roof, the event captures the company’s engineering depth and future direction.
Among the star attractions are:
- GMA Platform – The modular architecture underpinning Proton’s new generation of vehicles.
- Short Blade Battery – A compact, efficient battery solution anchoring Proton’s electrification strategy.
- All-New PHEV Engine and Transmission – Highlighting Proton’s dual commitment to EV and hybrid development.
- ACO Tech Connectivity Features – Showcasing AR and AI-driven functions that enhance the in-car digital experience.

Alongside the technology exhibits, Proton’s latest models—including the Proton X50, Proton e.MAS 5, and the all-new Proton Saga—are on display. For the first time ever, a yet-to-be-launched model slated for early 2026 makes a surprise public debut, marking a major sneak peek for fans and industry watchers.
Beyond the physical exhibits, visitors can deepen their understanding through a series of presentations by Proton, Geely, key vendors, and industry experts. These sessions cover critical topics in automotive advancement, from electrification trends to AI integration.
A live taping of the popular podcast Tekan Habis adds excitement to the event, giving attendees the opportunity to directly engage the hosts with questions—bringing a fresh, interactive element to the showcase.
The entire programme underscores Proton’s evolving role in the Malaysian automotive landscape, illustrating how global collaboration and local expertise are driving the brand forward.
One of the most anticipated features of the showcase is the chance to ride on Proton’s semi high-speed test track—Malaysia’s first and only dedicated facility of its kind. This exclusive taxi ride lets visitors experience Proton’s engineering capabilities firsthand, seeing how the technologies on display translate into real on-road performance.
Guests can also participate in test drives featuring Proton’s latest offerings, including the newly unveiled all-new Saga, rounding out a fully immersive automotive experience.
According to Dr. Li Chunrong, the showcase represents a pivotal moment in Proton’s journey: “Proton is moving into a new phase where technology and innovation will define our products and company direction. The progress showcased at the event is the result of close collaboration with Geely, supported by the hard work of our engineering teams.”
With rapidly advancing technologies and a clear vision for future mobility, Proton’s Technology Showcase successfully demonstrates not just what the company has achieved, but where it is headed—towards a smarter, more connected, and more electrified future for Malaysian drivers.
