Toyota Motor Thailand has officially revealed the new Hilux, ushering in the next chapter of its iconic global pick-up line. Known for its hallmark Quality, Durability, and Reliability (QDR), the latest Hilux combines proven toughness with a bold, forward-looking design.
Catering to a wide range of customer needs across Asia, the new Hilux adopts a multi-pathway approach to mobility. Toyota will offer both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) variants, ensuring adaptability across different markets and lifestyles. The new generation is slated for release in selected markets starting FY2026.
Since its debut in 1968, the Hilux has become a trusted companion in over 195 countries, earning a reputation for endurance and reliability. The 9th-generation model builds on this legacy, extending its role beyond work utility to become a “Partner For Life” — supporting families, professionals, and adventurers alike.
Designed for versatility, the new Hilux is both rugged for demanding tasks and comfortable for city driving, offering light off-road capability for weekend getaways. Toyota emphasizes its vision of “Mobility for All,” ensuring that the Hilux remains a dependable companion through every stage of life.
“Hilux has always been made by the people, for the people,” said Simon Humphries, Chief Branding Officer and Head of Design at Toyota Motor Corporation. “It reflects real voices, cultures, and communities while embodying Toyota’s belief in mobility for everyone.”
The Hilux continues to thrive under Toyota’s IMV project, launched in 2004 to deliver localized mobility solutions. Thailand, the birthplace of the IMV program, remains central to its global success.
“The IMV story shows that global success stems from local strength,” said Anyarat Sutthibenjakul, Regional Chief Engineer at Toyota Motor Asia. Developed in close collaboration with teams in Thailand and Australia, the new Hilux reflects years of research, feedback, and engineering aimed at serving real-world needs.
“We wanted to reimagine a vehicle that customers can truly be proud of,” added Nicolas Hogios, Regional Design Chief at Toyota Australia. “The new Hilux is tougher, smarter, and more expressive—ready for the future without losing its legendary DNA.”
Engineered for diverse environments—from rugged terrains to urban streets—the 9th-generation Hilux boasts enhanced body rigidity, refined suspension, and Electric Power Steering for superior driving confidence.
As part of Toyota’s multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality, the Hilux introduces BEV and ICE variants tailored to regional needs. The BEV version offers instant torque, quiet operation, and the same off-road capability, towing capacity, and payload reliability that professional and lifestyle users expect from a body-on-frame pick-up.
Inside, the new Hilux integrates Toyota’s latest safety and connectivity technologies:
- Toyota Safety Sense 3 (TSS 3) for enhanced pre-collision and lane-keeping support.
- Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) and Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM) for superior control in all conditions.
- Next-generation infotainment with seamless smartphone integration and connected services, enhancing the ownership experience.

These innovations ensure that the Hilux remains a partner for life, combining strength, intelligence, and sustainability.
Beyond engineering excellence, the new Hilux represents Toyota’s enduring relationship with Thailand and its commitment to regional development. From construction sites to family adventures, from the Australian outback to Southeast Asia’s streets, the Hilux continues to symbolize reliability, adaptability, and long-term value.
As competition in the pick-up segment grows, the launch of the new Hilux not only introduces a next-generation vehicle but also highlights Toyota’s commitment to fostering talent, enhancing local collaboration, and driving toward a more inclusive, carbon-neutral future.
