MG Motor Malaysia proudly announces that its flagship electric SUV, the MGS5 EV, has been awarded a 5-Star rating by ASEAN NCAP, the premier vehicle safety assessment program in Southeast Asia. The accolade was officially presented during the International Conference on Safety and Holistic Innovation for Future Vehicles (SHIFT 2025) at Bangi Resort Hotel.

SHIFT 2025, a collaborative initiative between ASEAN NCAP and the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), provides a platform for automotive industry leaders, researchers, and academics to converge and discuss the future of vehicle safety and innovation in the region.

Emory QiFeng, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, “We are honoured to receive the 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating for the MGS5 EV, which reflects our unwavering commitment to safety and quality. As we move towards local assembly, this recognition reinforces our dedication to bringing vehicles that meet international safety standards to Malaysian roads.”

The 5-Star rating underscores MG Motor Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to combine cutting-edge technology, design, and rigorous safety standards in its EV lineup, further establishing the MGS5 EV as a benchmark for safe and sustainable mobility in Southeast Asia.
