UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has officially concluded the 24th edition of its Toyota Eco Youth (TEY) programme, celebrating the next generation of environmental leaders at a closing ceremony held at Wyndham Acmar Klang. “Witnessing the 2025 participants apply structured problem-solving to deliver tangible, community-driven environmental change is truly inspiring,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor. “These young individuals have moved beyond awareness into action, demonstrating leadership, resilience, and innovation in overcoming real-world issues. They embody the spirit of ‘Mobility for All,’ moving communities toward a greener, more sustainable future.”
Launched in March 2025, this year’s TEY programme expanded its reach to 30 schools nationwide, with a total investment of RM167,000 in grants and prizes. Participants were guided through Toyota’s 8-Step Problem-Solving Methodology — from identifying environmental problems and analysing root causes to implementing measurable solutions.
Throughout the programme, students showcased creativity, discipline, and empathy, engaging their communities to build meaningful environmental impact that extends beyond school walls.
For UMW Toyota Motor, the Toyota Eco Youth initiative is more than a competition — it’s a movement that reflects the company’s long-term commitment to “Mobility for All.” By equipping students with critical thinking tools and leadership confidence, TEY cultivates a new generation ready to champion sustainability and drive Malaysia toward a cleaner, more responsible future.
