PRO-NET has achieved a major milestone with the overwhelming response to its latest model, the Proton e.MAS 5. Within just one week of opening bookings, Malaysia’s first truly affordable electric vehicle (EV) has already secured 3,000 bookings, including an impressive 1,607 reservations within the first 24 hours.

This strong debut reinforces Proton’s growing reputation in the EV space, following the success of its larger sibling, the Proton e.MAS 7, which continues to dominate the Malaysian EV market in 2025. As of 30 September 2025, the e.MAS 7 has achieved 6,655 cumulative sales, with 6,212 units sold locally and 443 exported, maintaining its position as Malaysia’s best-selling EV for nine consecutive months and commanding a 24% market share.

“We are in a month where two milestones were achieved – the strong sales of the Proton e.MAS 7 and the overwhelming interest Malaysians have shown in the e.MAS 5,” said Mr. Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET. “The booking numbers exceeded our expectations, and we are grateful that Malaysians continue to trust us to deliver electric vehicles tailored to our local driving needs.”

The Proton e.MAS 5 represents PRO-NET’s vision of making electric mobility accessible to a wider audience. Priced tentatively between RM60,000 and RM80,000, the B-segment hatchback offers a blend of smart urban design, advanced technology, and spacious comfort, rivaling vehicles in higher price categories.

Despite its compact city-friendly size, the e.MAS 5 features a spacious C-segment interior, with a flat rear floor, wide-opening doors, and ample storage flexibility — making it ideal for both daily commutes and weekend adventures.

Inside, drivers are greeted by a 14.6-inch Full HD display head unit, ATLAS Auto OS, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Paired with the Proton e.MAS App, the car offers a seamlessly connected driving experience.

Performance-wise, the e.MAS 5 delivers a WLTP-rated range of 325 km and supports fast-charging, ensuring practicality for urban commutes and intercity trips alike — all while keeping running and maintenance costs significantly lower than petrol-powered vehicles.

Starting 17 October 2025, Malaysians can experience the Proton e.MAS 5 up close at Proton e.MAS showrooms nationwide. Visitors are encouraged to contact their nearest showroom for test drive availability and further details.

Customers eager to secure their e.MAS 5 can do so with just a RM99 booking fee, either through the official Proton e.MAS website or at any of the 30 Proton e.MAS dealerships nationwide.

Early adopters will enjoy exclusive perks, including:

  • A limited-edition Proton e.MAS Touch ‘n Go NFC Card preloaded with RM100
  • A RM500 rebate on the booking fee

(Offer valid for the first 5,000 successful bookings; terms and conditions apply.)

With the Proton e.MAS 5 joining the lineup, PRO-NET continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainable mobility — delivering high-quality, technology-driven, and affordable EVs designed for Malaysian drivers.
