Bermaz Motor once again demonstrated how the joy of driving can be paired with a deep sense of social responsibility through its 11th Mazda Charity Golf Tournament, held at the prestigious Glenmarie Golf & Country Club. More than just a day on the greens, the event united business leaders, government officials, Mazda customers, and passionate golfers under a single purpose — to give back to society through the Mazda Medicare Fund (MMF).

Since its inception, the MMF has been a cornerstone of Bermaz Motor’s community outreach, providing humanitarian aid, medical relief, and vital support to welfare organizations across Malaysia. The 2025 tournament proved to be its most successful yet, raising an impressive RM1.4 million in donations — a testament to the power of collective generosity and shared compassion.

The tournament achieved an extraordinary milestone under the esteemed Royal Patronage of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who has been the Royal Patron of the MMF since its establishment in 2015. His Royal Highness’ presence elevated the event’s significance, embodying leadership rooted in compassion, humility, and service to the rakyat.

Also in attendance were several distinguished national leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Selangor Menteri Besar YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, and Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz. Their participation underscored the strong synergy between royalty, government, and the private sector in fostering a culture of empathy and community support.

This year’s event drew 200 participants, blending spirited competition with meaningful purpose. On the fairways, camaraderie flourished as golfers competed in good faith, while off the course, conversations and connections strengthened the shared resolve to create lasting social impact.

The RM1.4 million raised will directly support the Mazda Medicare Fund’s ongoing initiatives — from subsidizing haemodialysis treatments for financially challenged patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) to funding welfare programs for orphanages, homes for the elderly, and facilities for the disabled.

During the prize-giving luncheon, a special cheque presentation ceremony was held to recognize the beneficiaries, which included Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital’s TKPKMM (Penang), Persatuan Kebajikan Ahsana (Kuala Lumpur), and House of Love (Selangor). These organizations represent diverse community needs — from healthcare and child welfare to elderly care — ensuring the donations reach those who need them most.

Tan Sri Dato Sri Ben Yeoh, Executive Chairman of Bermaz Auto Berhad, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and supporters.

“This tournament has become one of the most meaningful initiatives under the Mazda Medicare Fund. It’s more than just golf — it’s about unity, compassion, and responsibility. Together, we are making a difference and shaping a culture of care in Malaysia,” he said.

Founded in 2015 through the partnership of Prima Merdu Sdn Bhd and B. Braun Avitum Renal Services, the Mazda Medicare Fund has grown into a trusted charitable platform. Its unique structure — managed entirely by Bermaz volunteers with zero overhead costs — ensures that 100% of all donations go directly to beneficiaries.

To sustain this long-term effort, Bermaz Motor also introduced the Mazda Privilege Card (MPC) in 2018. For a one-time fee of RM100 (fully donated to MMF and tax-exempted by LHDN), Mazda owners can support the fund while enjoying service benefits, such as discounts on genuine parts and labour at authorized Mazda outlets nationwide. This initiative has since become a meaningful bridge between the brand and its customers, embedding social contribution into the ownership experience itself.

The 11th Mazda Charity Golf Tournament stands as a shining example of how business and community can align for good. What began as a simple golf event has evolved into a movement that empowers lives and inspires others to act with empathy.

Through initiatives like the MMF and the unwavering support of participants, sponsors, and customers, Bermaz Motor continues to embody its vision — that driving pleasure goes hand in hand with driving positive change.
