Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has officially announced the start of sales for the locally-assembled Hyundai STARIA, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s journey and investment in Malaysia. This development represents Hyundai’s first locally-produced model under HMY, assembled in partnership with Inokom Corporation at Sime Motors’ facility in Kulim, Kedah.
According to Mr Eric Lee, President of Hyundai Motor Malaysia, the commencement of local production is more than just a manufacturing milestone—it signifies Hyundai’s confidence in Malaysia’s growing potential as a regional hub for automotive assembly and development.
“The commencement of local production for the Hyundai STARIA is more than just a production achievement. It represents Hyundai’s confidence in Malaysia as an important market and a growing hub for future assembly,” said Lee.
Echoing this sentiment, Mr Sui Keng Huat, Managing Director of Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd, added that each vehicle produced at the Kulim plant is crafted to Hyundai’s exacting global standards by 100% Malaysian talent.
