WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA) has officially launched the GAC M8 PHEV — a luxurious plug-in hybrid MPV that blends opulent design, advanced hybrid technology, and exceptional comfort into one premium package.

Available in Premium and Luxury trims, the GAC M8 PHEV is priced at RM328,800 and RM388,800 respectively (on-the-road, excluding insurance, for Peninsular Malaysia). To mark its market debut, WTCA is offering early customers — those who book before 31 December 2025 — two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance and a portable charging cable, together worth RM3,800. These introductory benefits are subject to terms and conditions and available for a limited time only.

Under the hood, the M8 PHEV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, paired with a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and an electric motor. Together, they produce a combined 372PS and 630Nm of torque. The hybrid system’s 25.57kWh battery and 56-litre fuel tank provide an impressive driving range of up to 1,038km, ensuring smooth, long-distance journeys with remarkable fuel efficiency.

Complementing its robust powertrain is an Adaptive Vehicle Dynamics Control System and Electromagnetic Damping Suspension, which deliver a refined balance between comfort and handling. Drivers can also choose between Intelligent Hybrid, All-Electricity First, and Power Preservation modes, adapting performance to different driving needs.

Designed as a “Luxurious MPV Masterpiece,” the M8 PHEV features a commanding “Lion-like” front fascia, signature ‘Awakening Eye’ LED headlights, and 18-inch alloy wheels with self-levelling center caps. Inside, the cabin exudes understated elegance, highlighted by semi-aniline leather upholstery, 480mm sliding second- and third-row seats for unmatched legroom, and an exceptionally quiet cabin with 108 sound insulation points and Engine Noise Control (ENC) technology.

The comfort experience is further elevated with GAC’s innovative draft-free air-conditioning system, which uses Cool-Sense Technology to deliver wind-free cooling — ideal for Malaysia’s tropical climate.

Safety is equally paramount in the M8 PHEV. The MPV debuts GAC’s world-first rear windscreen airbag, part of a comprehensive 360° airbag system. It also comes equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Full Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA), ensuring confidence and convenience for every journey.

Every GAC M8 PHEV is backed by a 5-year/150,000km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/150,000km battery warranty, whichever comes first.

The GAC M8 PHEV is now available for sale at GAC showrooms nationwide, with test drives offered by appointment. The model will also make appearances at upcoming roadshows — including Johor Mid Valley SouthKey (5–9 November) and the Malaysia Car of the Year Showcase at 1 Utama (12–16 November).
