Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad (Allianz General) is taking a bold step toward promoting sustainable mobility with the launch of its new Allianz Electric Vehicle (EV) EcoMiles benefit programme. The initiative rewards Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) drivers who maintain low annual mileage with real cash rebates—a first-of-its-kind offering in Malaysia’s insurance landscape.

Under the Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy, BEV owners who activate the EV EcoMiles benefit via the MyAllianz app can earn up to 15% cashback on their insurance premiums, simply by driving less. The programme comes at no additional cost, transforming eco-conscious driving into financial rewards.

“Allianz EV EcoMiles is our way of supporting customers’ green initiatives and rewarding them for their sustainable choices,” said Sean Wang, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz General. “Driving a BEV already contributes to lowering carbon emissions, but this programme goes further—rewarding those who drive less, whether they’re remote workers or weekend-only drivers.”

The EV EcoMiles programme features two reward tiers:

  • Tier 1: Drivers averaging up to 10,000 kilometres per year will receive 15% of their net basic premium (after No Claim Discount).
  • Tier 2: Drivers with 10,001 to 15,000 kilometres per year will receive 10% of their net basic premium.

To qualify, policyholders must activate the benefit within 30 days of their policy’s start date and submit their odometer reading and vehicle photos through the MyAllianz app around the time of policy renewal. Once verified, the cash reward will be credited directly to their account.

In conjunction with the launch, Allianz General is offering complimentary RM100 EV charging credits for customers who:

  • Insure their BEVs under an Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy between 29 September and 31 October 2025,
  • Activate the EV EcoMiles benefit within 30 days, and
  • Provide valid contact details during the policy purchase.

Successful applicants will receive a redemption code via email, which can be used on the ChargEV app powered by Yinson Greentech.

Sean Wang highlighted that the initiative reflects Allianz General’s ongoing commitment to supporting customers’ evolving lifestyles while encouraging environmentally responsible choices. “By offering tangible rewards for BEV ownership and low mileage, we’re empowering Malaysians to make sustainable decisions that benefit both themselves and the planet,” he added.

Through the EV EcoMiles programme, Allianz General continues to blend innovation with sustainability, ensuring customers enjoy protection, peace of mind, and now, financial rewards for driving green.
