Following the successful introduction of its flagship EX90 and XC90 earlier this year, Volvo Car Malaysia has turned its attention to its best-selling SUV—the Volvo XC60. The refreshed XC60 arrives with an updated design, advanced comfort features, and the latest electrified powertrains, strengthening its position as a favourite among Malaysian families.
Since its debut, the Volvo XC60 has become a cornerstone of the brand, with nearly 2.7 million units sold worldwide. In Malaysia alone, more than 6,200 units are already on the road, making it the go-to choice for drivers who value safety, refinement, and driving confidence.
The refreshed XC60 will be offered in two electrified variants:
- XC60 T8 AWD Plug-in Hybrid – estimated price from RM367,888
- XC60 B5 AWD Mild Hybrid – estimated price from RM333,888*
(*Final prices to be confirmed later.)
The plug-in hybrid variant provides up to 89 km of pure electric driving (WLTP)—perfect for city commutes and daily errands—while still delivering over 450 Nm of torque for longer journeys. Meanwhile, the mild hybrid variant offers a convenient plug-free solution, improving fuel efficiency and lowering emissions through energy recuperation.
As expected from Volvo, safety remains a hallmark. The refreshed XC60 comes with the brand’s latest intelligent driver-assist systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and collision avoidance. Together with Volvo’s signature safety cage, these features ensure class-leading protection for all occupants.
Visually, the XC60 gains a more athletic character with a redesigned front grille, new wheel designs, and darker rear lamp housings. Two fresh exterior colours—Forest Lake and Bright Dusk—further align the XC60 with Volvo’s modern electrified range while preserving its timeless Scandinavian elegance.
Inside, the XC60 continues to showcase Volvo’s mastery of comfort and craftsmanship. Ergonomically designed seats provide support and softness for journeys short or long, while the available air suspension system (complimentary for a limited time on the plug-in hybrid) ensures smooth rides over uneven roads.
Practical enhancements include repositioned wireless charging, reconfigured cupholders, and more versatile cargo space. The addition of advanced air purification technology—capable of filtering 95% of harmful particles—ensures cleaner cabin air, even in challenging urban environments.
At the heart of the XC60’s cabin is a new 11.2-inch freestanding display with Google built-in, giving drivers seamless access to Google Maps, voice commands via Google Assistant, and familiar apps like Spotify and Waze. For audiophiles, the optional Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity sound system transforms the cabin into a concert hall on wheels.
With this refresh, the Volvo XC60 evolves to meet the modern driver’s expectations—combining electrification, safety, luxury, and intuitive technology in one sophisticated package. Whether for daily commutes or weekend getaways, the XC60 continues to embody the best of Volvo’s Scandinavian philosophy.
