After more than a decade away, Proton has officially made its comeback to Singapore, marking the occasion with the launch of its first-ever electric vehicle, the Proton e.MAS 7. The debut not only strengthens Proton’s presence in the region but also underscores the brand’s commitment to sustainable mobility in Southeast Asia.

The launch ceremony was attended by top executives from Proton, PRO-NET, Proton International Corporation, and VINCAR Group, alongside representatives from the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore, customers, and members of the media. Speaking at the event, Proton Chief Executive Officer Dr Li Chunrong highlighted the significance of the move, stating:

“Tonight is not just the launch of a product, it is also the beginning of a partnership — Proton’s technology and values, combined with VINCAR’s local knowledge and customer trust. Malaysia and Singapore are more than neighbors; we are bound by family, business, and daily life. We will offer as much support as possible to Proton customers from Singapore.”

The Proton e.MAS 7 has already made waves in Malaysia, where nearly 6,000 units were delivered in the first eight months of 2025, earning it the title of the country’s most popular EV with a 24% market share. Built on Proton’s core values of style, performance, safety, comfort, and intelligence, the e.MAS 7 also boasts an ASEAN NCAP safety score of 92.57 points — the highest in its class.

Backing the vehicle is Proton’s extensive network of 3S and 4S outlets across Malaysia, providing new EV buyers with easy access to sales, service, and support.

In Singapore, the e.MAS 7 will be available in two trims — Prime and Premium — with six exterior colours ranging from Platinum Silver to Quartz Rose, along with two interior themes: Indigo Blue and Alabaster White.

To celebrate its entry into the market, Proton is offering a limited Founders Edition package to the first 99 buyers. The package includes a 10-year unlimited-mileage battery warranty, five years of complimentary data roaming in Malaysia and Singapore, and cross-border roadside assistance. Singaporean owners will even benefit from vehicle towing to Malaysian Proton service centres in the event of a breakdown across the Causeway.

The e.MAS 7 is priced at SGD175,988 for the Prime variant and SGD179,988 for the Premium variant, inclusive of COE, with these launch prices applicable to the first 99 units.

With Malaysia set to trial its new National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) later this month, Singaporean e.MAS 7 owners can look forward to a more seamless travel experience between Singapore and Johor Bahru — further reinforcing the practicality of Proton’s cross-border support.

According to Proton International Corporation CEO Edmund Lim Meng Thong, the e.MAS 7 marks just the beginning of Proton’s long-term plans for Singapore. The company aims to expand its lineup with more New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), tapping into Singapore’s mature and receptive EV market.
