Bermaz Motor has officially introduced the all-new Mazda CX-80, the second model in Mazda’s prestigious Large Product Group, redefining what a flagship three-row SUV should be. First unveiled in Europe in April 2024 and previewed at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024, the CX-80 marks a bold step forward for Mazda in premium design, electrified performance, and family-focused versatility.

Guided by the “Graceful Toughness” design concept, the CX-80 commands attention with bold yet refined proportions. Its long wheelbase, short overhangs, and flowing body lines embody Mazda’s Kodo design philosophy, where minimalist Japanese artistry and meticulous Takumi craftsmanship bring light, shadow, and form to life. Signature L-shaped lighting, sculpted surfaces, and precise chrome accents further elevate its premium road presence.

Inside, the CX-80 presents a cabin designed with Mazda’s Jinba-Ittai philosophy—seamless harmony between car and driver. A clean dashboard layout, premium textures, and subtle ambient lighting create a calm, inviting environment. The six-seater layout, complete with second-row captain’s chairs and a third-row bench, ensures comfort for every passenger. Practical features such as integrated storage, discreet cup holders, climate controls, and charging ports enhance everyday usability, while a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system surrounds occupants in concert-quality audio.

Mazda’s latest Human Machine Interface (HMI) integrates a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a head-up display, ensuring clarity and minimal distraction. The system works with the Driver Personalization System, which recognises the driver and automatically adjusts over 250 settings including seating, mirrors, and displays.

Underpinning the CX-80 is Mazda’s Large Architecture Platform, featuring a front-engine, rear-biased all-wheel-drive layout for balance and agility. Power comes from the 2.5L e-Skyactiv Plug-in Hybrid system, pairing a 2.5L Skyactiv-G petrol engine with an electric motor and a 17.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. Together, they deliver 323 hp and 500 Nm of torque, capable of 65 km of pure electric driving and a combined fuel consumption of just 1.6L/100 km (WLTP).

Advanced double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, coupled with i-ACTIV AWD and Kinematic Posture Control, ensures agile cornering, stability, and ride comfort. Selectable Mi-Drive driving modes allow the SUV to adapt to any terrain, while regenerative braking improves efficiency.

Awarded a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, the CX-80 integrates Mazda’s comprehensive i-Activsense safety suite, including Adaptive LED Headlamps, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Lane-Keep Assist, Front & Rear Smart Brake Support, Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Cruising & Traffic Support. Together, these features anticipate hazards and protect passengers with the latest in active and passive safety.

The Mazda CX-80 is available in refined colour options such as Melting Copper, Artisan Red, Rhodium White, Jet Black, and Platinum Quartz. Fully imported from Japan as a CBU model and crafted at Mazda’s Hofu Plant, it arrives in Malaysia priced from RM330,000.

Buyers enjoy a 5-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty and 5-Year Free Maintenance Programme, covering labour, parts, and lubricants, while the high-voltage battery is protected for 8 years or 160,000 km.
