MG Motor Malaysia is set to turn heads at the 68th Merdeka Day Parade on 31 August 2025 in Putrajaya with the debut of its first all-electric roadster, the MG Cyberster. Joining the electric vehicle (EV) contingent led by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), the Cyberster will take its place among other leading EV brands in a unified showcase of Malaysia’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

Adorned with a special MITI decal for the occasion, the Cyberster’s appearance underscores its unique role as the only all-electric roadster in the parade. This bold, open-top EV not only signifies MG’s forward-thinking approach but also reflects a proud lineage that combines British sports car heritage with cutting-edge electrification technology.

“Our participation in the Merdeka Day Parade is not only a proud moment for MG, but also a reflection of our support towards Malaysia’s ambition to accelerate EV adoption,” said Emory QiFeng, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia. “With its British heritage and bold new EV direction, the MG Cyberster is an icon of innovation and progress, and we are honoured to showcase it alongside other EV brands in celebration of the nation’s 68th Independence Day.”

For Malaysians attending the parade, the MG Cyberster promises to be a standout attraction, making its public debut in a setting that celebrates both national pride and the future of green mobility.
