The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has officially launched its latest high-performance innovations—the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 and the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 SUV—at the Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur (TASKL), where the brand serves as the official tyre partner.

Renowned for its motorsport heritage, the Eagle F1 series has been a benchmark for performance since its debut in 1980, powering championship-winning machines under the most demanding conditions. Building on this legacy, the Asymmetric 6 SUV brings the same cutting-edge technology to everyday drivers, offering exhilarating performance and exceptional comfort for both passenger cars and SUVs.

Speaking at the launch, Ashwin Rajgopal, Managing Director of Goodyear Malaysia, highlighted the significance of the occasion. “This year marks the 45th anniversary of the iconic Eagle F1 brand, and with the Asymmetric 6 SUV, we’re delivering a tyre that excels in handling, wet and dry performance, and comfort—without compromising safety. It’s also EV-compatible when aligned with manufacturer specifications, supporting the region’s shift towards electrification.”

The Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur, modeled after Japan’s world-famous event, runs from August 8–10, 2025, and attracted over 90,000 visitors in 2024. Goodyear aims to captivate enthusiasts and consumers alike by showcasing its latest performance tyres in an environment celebrating automotive excellence.

Michelle Wo, Head of Channel Strategy & Development, noted the strategic timing of the launch. “With the premium SUV segment experiencing remarkable growth, now is the perfect time to introduce the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 SUV. Alongside this, we’re also expanding the Asymmetric 6 range and rewarding customers—those purchasing selected Goodyear tyres (17-inch and above) in July and August 2025 can receive up to RM200 in Touch ‘n Go e-wallet credit.”

From racetrack dominance to everyday roads, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 and its SUV counterpart embody Goodyear’s relentless pursuit of performance, innovation, and driver confidence—setting a new standard for what high-performance tyres can deliver.
