Michelin has announced the appointment of Florentin Odenwald as the new Managing Director for Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, effective 1 July 2025. He succeeds Prichapakorn Dangrojana, who has taken on a new position within the group in France.
Bringing a wealth of global experience and a strong commercial acumen, Odenwald steps into the role with a clear mandate to drive growth, strengthen regional partnerships, and spearhead innovation across the three markets. Prior to this, he served as Executive Vice President of Global Automotive OE Sales, where he managed relationships with over 25 global automotive brands and was a key member of Michelin’s Automotive Executive Committee.
Odenwald’s leadership journey includes impactful collaborations with iconic car manufacturers such as Porsche, Mercedes AMG, BMW, Volkswagen, Hyundai, and Tesla. His expertise lies in strategic growth, technical innovation, and forging strong partnerships—all of which align with Michelin’s evolving identity as a mobility technology leader.
In his new role, Odenwald will direct Michelin’s strategic vision and operations in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. He also remains a member of Michelin’s Asia-Pacific regional leadership team, giving him a broader perspective to align local strategies with regional ambitions.
“Being part of the APAC regional leadership team provides me with a holistic view of the opportunities and challenges for the brand across the region,” said Odenwald. “My aspiration is to position Michelin as a leader in sustainability and innovation across Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, while demonstrating that we are more than just a tire company. We are a technology leader in composites, pushing boundaries to create new business opportunities.”
He further added, “I am excited to use my expertise in building lasting partnerships and work closely with our teams and partners in this region to shape innovative projects and strategic collaborations that align with our global vision. By setting new benchmarks for sustainable mobility and advanced composites innovation, we can achieve something truly great together as a team.”
Odenwald’s appointment signals Michelin’s continued commitment to Southeast Asia, reinforcing its focus on premium branding, sustainable mobility solutions, and long-term innovation. His leadership is expected to usher in a new era of growth and transformation, positioning Michelin at the forefront of advanced mobility technologies in the region.
