Two of Japan’s most iconic custom builds by world-renowned tuning house Liberty Walk will be the centre of attention at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur, happening from 8 to 10 August at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

Straight from Japan, Liberty Walk is bringing in two headline-making machines—the controversial, heavily-modified Ferrari F40 and the aggressive Super Silhouette ER34. These standout vehicles are set to draw massive crowds, both for their engineering feats and their bold design statements.

Fans of Liberty Walk will also have the opportunity to meet the visionary behind the brand, Wataru Kato, who will be making a special appearance at the event. A Liberty Walk merchandise booth will also be available, giving fans a chance to take home a piece of tuning culture.

Ferrari F40: A Rebel in White

Originally unveiled in 2023, Liberty Walk’s take on the Ferrari F40 caused a global stir with its unmistakable aesthetic and dramatic modifications. The F40 retains its iconic 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 471 horsepower and 578 Nm of torque. However, its bodywork tells a different story—an unapologetic departure from Ferrari tradition.

With signature Liberty Walk wide arches, a dropped suspension, and a full wide-body aero kit, this F40 is anything but factory-spec. The most striking detail? A white body wrap featuring red roundels on the doors—reminiscent of the WWII-era Japanese A6M Zero fighter planes—replacing the usual Rosso Corsa red. The extensive modifications reportedly led to the car being removed from Ferrari’s official registry, a testament to just how far Liberty Walk has pushed the boundaries.

Super Silhouette ER34: Tribute to a Racing Legend

First revealed at the 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon, the Liberty Walk Super Silhouette ER34 pays homage to the KDR30 Skyline piloted by Masahiro Hasemi in the 1982-83 Super Silhouette Formula series. Dressed in the iconic red and black livery, the ER34 has since achieved cult status, even appearing in diecast form.

Under the hood, the original RB25DET NEO engine has been swapped for a more retro setup—a stroked 3.1-liter L28 engine fed by triple 50mm Solex carburetors. Visually, the car is all-out aggression: oversized fenders, a boxy silhouette, and an enormous rear wing dominate its race-inspired design. 18×11-inch Yokohama Advan Racing GT wheels with hub extenders and air suspension complete the menacing look.
