The 14th edition of Art of Speed (AOS 2025) blazed through the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS) in full throttle from July 26–27, reaffirming its position as Malaysia’s most electrifying celebration of custom automotive culture. With thousands of fans pouring in from across the region and a lineup of global automotive icons, this year’s edition delivered an experience that was louder, bolder, and more vibrant than ever before.

Right from the entrance, visitors knew they were in for something extraordinary. The revamped AOS gateway — now transformed into a massive LED-illuminated portal — set the tone with pulsating visuals and animated displays. It wasn’t just a photo hotspot, it was a beacon of the event’s creative evolution.

AOS 2025 brought together an impressive roster of international VIPs, including MOONEYES legends Shige Suganuma and Hiro “Wildman” Ishii, Hot Wheels product designer Brendon Vetuskey, and custom culture artists from the USA, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and beyond. Their presence not only elevated the event’s global stature but also inspired local talents and enthusiasts alike.

A standout program this year was the “Beetle Battle”, a cross-border showcase of Volkswagen Beetles led by Denny Kusumah of the VW Beetle Club Indonesia. With cars arriving from various ASEAN countries, the initiative highlighted the unifying power of automotive passion and regional camaraderie.

Collectors had plenty to get excited about as the 3rd Official Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia (HWCCM) returned with even more interactive zones. Fans engaged in rare collectibles exhibitions, trading activities, and a one-of-a-kind custom competition — all topped off with a Southeast Asia-first: convention-exclusive left and right facing cars.

From scooters and superbikes to classic muscle and Euro rides, AOS 2025 had something for every gearhead. Featured gatherings included:

  • Santai Scooterist mega meet-up
  • Roda Rumble 2025 two-wheel festival
  • Modern & Classic Car Clubs, including Alfa Romeo and Porsche owners
  • Moto4Sale, a new platform to buy and sell motorcycles under 500cc
  • A Test Ride Zone featuring major brands like Vespa, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Harley-Davidson, and more

Beyond machines, AOS 2025 was a festival of lifestyle experiences:

  • Medan Selera food truck heaven
  • Payung Kopi café lounge with pastries and brews
  • Sunburst Tribe’s Fashion Show in Hall D
  • Automotive flea market, brand activations, and product launches
  • Backdoor SoundSystem Collective, providing a sonic backdrop outdoors

Inside Hall A, SoundCircus Takeover delivered a thrilling musical journey. Featuring the likes of Noh Salleh, Ruffedge, Romantic Echoes, and up-and-comers like Luqman Podolski and Iqbal M, the stage transformed into a dynamic arena of genres that had the crowd rocking all weekend.

This year’s Best of Show winners earned more than just bragging rights. Shaun Pinto (VW Beetle, 1965) and Omar Jumiran of Eastern Bobber (Honda CB175, 1983) will represent Malaysia as Guest of Honour at the prestigious 33rd Annual MOONEYES Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show in Japan — a dream platform for any custom builder.
