In a move poised to transform the refuelling experience across Malaysia, Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd (Setel) has announced a strategic partnership with TNG Digital Sdn Bhd (TNGD) to integrate its pump-and-pay technology directly into the TNG eWallet platform. This collaboration enables motorists to pay for fuel right at the pump using the widely adopted eWallet, without ever leaving their vehicles or downloading a separate app.

Now available at over 1,000 PETRONAS stations nationwide, the new feature is accessed via the ‘PETRONAS via Setel’ mini programme within the TNG eWallet. The integration stems from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed by both companies, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of digital mobility services in Malaysia.

Setel CEO Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin highlighted the broader vision behind the partnership: “This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to scale Setel’s platform through ecosystem integration that delivers meaningful impact. Refuelling is a high-frequency transaction. Embedding Setel within TNG eWallet allows us to meet users where they are and reinforce our vision to deliver seamless and frictionless mobility and retail experiences through digital innovation.”

Echoing this sentiment, Alan Ni, CEO of TNG Digital, emphasized how the collaboration supports the eWallet’s mission to embed practical services into users’ daily lives. “Fuel payments are a regular routine for many individuals, and this collaboration makes the process faster and more accessible, while creating new touchpoints within PETRONAS’ nationwide network,” he said. “We actively encourage partnerships that not only enhance convenience for users, but also give our partners the opportunity to reach a wider, digitally engaged audience.”

To celebrate the launch, Setel and TNG Digital are offering a special promotion: the first 50,000 eligible transactions through the TNG eWallet mini programme will earn users RM5 worth of Mesra Rewards points. This reward is open to new Setel and Mesra Rewards users, as well as existing Mesra users linking their ID to Setel for the first time.
