Proton is pleased to announce the appointment of Ainol Azmil as the covering Deputy Chief Executive Officer, effective 10 June 2025. In this interim role, he will report directly to Dr. Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of Proton, while continuing to lead Corporate Strategy and Group Technical Procurement within the company.
Ainol steps into the position following the departure of Roslan Abdullah, who has served as Deputy CEO for the past five years. During his tenure, Roslan played a pivotal role in strengthening Proton’s presence as a leading automotive brand in Malaysia. He also contributed significantly to the company’s foray into the electric vehicle market, marked by the launch of its inaugural EV model, the Proton e.MAS 7.
Welcoming Ainol to his new responsibilities, Dr. Li Chunrong expressed confidence in his leadership: “Protn welcomes Ainol Azmil to the role of covering Deputy Chief Executive Officer. We are confident in his ability to take on this temporary appointment. At the same time, Proton would like to convey utmost gratitude to Roslan Abdullah for his contribution to the company and we wish him well in his future undertakings.”
