Tesla has officially made its mark in the heart of Penang with the grand opening of its new Experience Centre at Gurney Plaza on 8 May 2025. Strategically located at the Kelawai entrance, the facility offers an immersive introduction to Tesla’s cutting-edge electric vehicles and technology, spotlighting the newly launched Model Y and the popular Model 3 sedan.
The highlight of the launch is the New Model Y, now available for priority test drives. As the world’s best-selling vehicle and holder of top safety ratings across four continents, the Model Y is setting new standards in electric mobility. Visitors to the centre can experience the design, innovation, and performance that make Tesla a global leader in sustainable transportation.
In celebration of the launch, customers can enjoy a suite of incentives valued up to RM28,000. These include complimentary home charging support and access to a low interest rate financing scheme, making Tesla ownership more accessible than ever. This offer complements Tesla’s newly introduced Green Mobility Incentives Program, aimed at encouraging organizations and their employees to adopt electric vehicles for a cleaner, greener future.
Tesla’s expansion in Malaysia goes beyond showrooms. The company is actively growing its charging network, with 14 Supercharging stations housing 64 Superchargers and 15 Destination Charging locations equipped with 70 Wall Connectors already available nationwide. To further enhance the ownership experience, six additional Supercharging stations are expected to launch soon. Notably, Destination Charging is currently available for free, allowing potential customers to experience Tesla’s seamless ‘Plug and Charge’ convenience firsthand.
The newly launched Model Y is offered in two variants—Rear-Wheel Drive starting from RM195,450 and the Long Range edition from RM242,450. Meanwhile, the Model 3 sedan begins at RM181,000. Both vehicles are available for test drives at the Gurney Plaza Experience Centre.
