In a landmark moment for Southeast Asia’s transition toward sustainable transportation, PRO-NET proudly marked a major milestone as the Proton e.MAS 7 led the ASEAN Unity Drive 2025 (AUD 2025) convoy from Jakarta on 22 April 2025. Recognized as Malaysia’s first electric vehicle (EV) and the nation’s best-selling EV for three consecutive months, the e.MAS 7’s role at the helm of this high-profile journey underscores Malaysia’s rising prominence in regional electric mobility.
The ceremonial flag-off at the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta brought together esteemed regional dignitaries, including Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, ASEAN Secretary-General H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, and key Malaysian ambassadors. Their presence reinforced the deepening regional cooperation on sustainable mobility and innovation.
Organized by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), with PRO-NET as the primary sponsor, the ASEAN Unity Drive 2025 is set to traverse over 9,000 kilometers across nine ASEAN nations. The journey represents a collective commitment to clean, connected, and efficient transportation solutions, with the e.MAS 7 serving as both symbol and tool of progress.
“We are proud that the Proton e.MAS 7 has been chosen to lead this important drive. It reflects the advanced engineering behind our EV and PRO-NET’s ongoing commitment to a greener and more connected Southeast Asia,” said Mr. Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET.
More than a cross-country road trip, AUD 2025 exemplifies the region’s unified vision for smart mobility, environmental sustainability, and cutting-edge technology. The Proton e.MAS 7, designed to meet the rigorous demands of inter-country travel, features next-generation safety systems, high connectivity, and a range built for Southeast Asia’s diverse roads and climates.
As the convoy continues its route through ASEAN capitals—Hanoi, Vientiane, Manila, Phnom Penh, Bandar Seri Begawan, Bangkok, and Singapore—it carries with it a message of regional solidarity and shared progress. Each stop will host community outreach and engagement sessions aimed at increasing EV awareness and promoting sustainable transportation initiatives.
With Malaysia holding the ASEAN Chairmanship this year, PRO-NET is seizing the opportunity to highlight the nation’s leadership in clean mobility and its dedication to a green, digitally connected future. The ASEAN Unity Drive 2025, powered by the e.MAS 7, is not just a journey—it’s a bold statement of what’s possible when innovation meets collaboration.
