Leapmotor is making waves once again—this time, across Southeast Asia. In partnership with global automotive giant Stellantis, Leapmotor embarked on an ambitious 3,000-kilometre road trip from its headquarters in Hangzhou, China, all the way to Johor, Malaysia. The star of this expedition? Their latest lineup of Range Extender Electric Vehicles (REEVs).

Dubbed the ASEAN Expedition Drive, the journey not only tested the limits of endurance and innovation but also served as a dynamic showcase of three breakthrough SUV models: the C10 REEV, the sporty C11 REEV, and the spacious, family-friendly six-seater C16 REEV. These vehicles promise to redefine cross-country travel, thanks to their intelligent design, high efficiency, and remarkable adaptability to diverse driving conditions.

Among the highlights is the Leapmotor C10 REEV, a standout model distinct from the C10 EV already familiar to local markets. Under the hood, it pairs a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that acts as a generator for its 28.4kWh battery, with a powerful 158kW electric motor. The result? A staggering 1,150KM range under the NEDC cycle—making range anxiety a thing of the past.

The REEV fleet made its way through Malaysia from April 14 to 23, stopping by key cities like Penang and Johor and visiting Leapmotor-authorised showrooms along the way. This 10-day tour not only introduced the models to local fans and potential buyers but also highlighted Leapmotor’s global ambitions and commitment to sustainable mobility.
