In a strategic move that signals a new era in supply chain excellence, DHL Supply Chain, the global leader in contract logistics, has been appointed by Bosch—a renowned global supplier of technology and services—to manage the distribution of its consumer goods and mobility-related products across Malaysia and select regional markets.
At the heart of this partnership is a state-of-the-art Distribution Center (DC) in Shah Alam, Malaysia, a site primed for integration with advanced Industry 4.0 technologies. These include Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Pick-to-Light and Put-to-Light systems, and real-time inventory tracking. These innovations will allow for highly flexible and efficient operations, tailored to the unique requirements of Bosch’s diverse product lines.
Commenting on the collaboration, Mario Lorenz, Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Malaysia, emphasized the significance of this alliance in the current logistics landscape. “In a time where global supply chains are becoming increasingly complex and Malaysia is positioning itself as a key logistics hub in Southeast Asia, this collaboration between DHL Supply Chain and Bosch is a strategic step forward. We aim to deliver tailored solutions that not only enhance operational efficiency but also boost our customers’ competitiveness on both a local and global scale,” he said. Lorenz highlighted that this partnership is aligned with Malaysia’s digital transformation goals and aspirations in becoming a leader in Industry 4.0.
Further reinforcing its commitment to innovation and capacity building, DHL Supply Chain Malaysia recently inaugurated its Penang Logistics Hub 5. This cutting-edge facility features the company’s first global deployment of Automated Case-handling Mobile Robots (ACR), Goods-to-Person Robotics (GTPR), and an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). Covering 22,000 square meters and located within the strategic Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone, the hub is positioned to support a leading multinational technology client and is mere minutes from Penang International Airport.
With ongoing investments in smart logistics infrastructure and talent development, DHL Supply Chain Malaysia continues to position itself as a pivotal player in the region’s supply chain ecosystem. The collaboration with Bosch marks yet another milestone in its journey to deliver high-impact, innovation-driven logistics solutions across Southeast Asia and beyond.
